Are you tired of AI delving into your copywriting and weaving a tapestry of vibrant golden nuggets for your brand’s landscape? Maybe you’re ready to embark on a journey that will be vital to your company’s bottom line.
What the what?
The previous lines of content vomit are the most overused words that ChatGPT tends to spit out.
If you want to discover how to train AI to sound like YOU and reflect your brand’s voice, you”ll be excited to hear from our next guest.
We’ll be chatting with Kinsey Soderberg, the host of the Authentic AI podcast, all about how to use AI to work for YOU and use your voice.
Training AI for Your Brand Voice: A Human-First Approach
Ever wondered if an AI could truly sound like you? Not just mimic your words, but reflect your personality—the quirky, slightly dorky, and totally relatable you? It’s a question that nags at many entrepreneurs as they navigate the ever-expanding world of AI tools. On this episode of Social Media News Live, we were lucky to have Kinsey Soderberg—AI consultant, educator, and authenticity advocate—share her insights on how to train AI to replicate your unique brand voice.
Kinsey is the founder of Authentic AI, a platform dedicated to helping entrepreneurs harness AI tools without losing their human touch. Through her podcast and courses, including the popular “Brand Blueprint” program, Kinsey guides business owners in developing comprehensive brand strategies that AI assistants like ChatGPT can execute. Her approach ensures that authenticity remains at the forefront, proving that AI can complement, rather than compromise, your creativity.
AI isn’t about replacing your creativity but amplifying it
The key to this amplification? Setting clear expectations for what AI should do for your brand. Whether you’re overwhelmed by the sheer number of tools available or hesitant to trust AI with your messaging, this episode will guide you toward a thoughtful, authentic integration of AI into your workflow.
Is Using AI Cheating? Why It’s Actually Smart
A common misconception about AI is that using it means “cheating” or cutting corners. While it’s true that some people wield it with reckless abandon—churning out content riddled with maestros delving into demystifying game changers—it’s not the tool’s fault. It’s all about how you use it. AI is a tool, not a shortcut; when used thoughtfully, it can empower you to focus on the aspects of your business that need your personal touch.
Using AI isn’t cheating—it’s working smarter to focus on what matters.
What AI Can (and Can’t) Do
AI is exceptional at processing information, generating ideas, and even drafting content. But it doesn’t have the instincts or emotional depth that make your brand truly unique. That’s where you come in.
What AI Can Do:
- Save time by automating repetitive tasks.
- Generate drafts and ideas for you to refine.
- Maintain consistency across platforms when properly trained.
What AI Can’t Do:
- Replace your creativity or lived experience.
- Understand nuances like sarcasm or humor without clear guidance.
Reframing the Narrative
Instead of viewing AI as a crutch, think of it as a collaborative partner. It’s there to handle the heavy lifting so you can focus on the strategic, high-impact parts of your business.
Key Takeaway: The goal isn’t automation for automation’s sake. It’s about freeing up your time so you can do what you love most.
How to Train AI to Match Your Brand Voice
Let’s face it: AI doesn’t come pre-loaded with your brand’s sparkling wit or that inside joke you’ve been milking for years. Kinsey compares AI to a fresh-faced intern—eager and capable, but clueless about what makes your brand tick. It’s not that AI can’t learn—it just needs a clear playbook.
Without clear instructions, Kinsey points out, AI is bound to miss the mark. Like any good intern, it thrives when given guidance that spells out your values, tone, and those quirks that make your brand unique. With the right input, AI can mirror your voice and create content that feels like it came directly from you.
Practical Steps for Training AI
1. Treat AI Like a Human Intern
Just like you have good and bad interns, you can also be a good or bad boss when it comes to working with AI. If you give your intern a vague task like “write a social media caption” and expect brilliance on their first day, guess what? You’re the bad boss. AI is no different.
Think of your AI assistant as a wide-eyed intern on their first day at the job. They’re eager to contribute but have no idea about your company’s personality, tone, or values. To get the best results, start with these steps:
Define a Role for AI: Decide how AI will serve your business. Will it be your content creator, brainstorming partner, or research assistant? Assigning a specific role helps you tailor your instructions.
Introduce Your Brand: Share the basics, such as your brand’s name, mission, target audience, and what you offer. For example, Kinsey might start with:
“My name is Kinsey. My brand is Authentic AI. We help solopreneurs use AI tools without sacrificing their authenticity.”
This simple introduction already provides the AI with a foundation to build on.
2. Develop a Comprehensive Brand Blueprint
For businesses looking to get advanced results, Kinsey recommends creating a “Brand Blueprint.” This document captures every aspect of your brand in detail, allowing AI to craft content that aligns seamlessly with your voice and messaging.
Here’s what to include:
Brand Identity: Define your personality, archetype, and visual elements.
Voice and Tone: Go beyond simple descriptors like “friendly.” Include nuances like humor style (dry wit or playful) and preferred word choices. For example, Kinsey discovered her brand’s use of self-deprecating humor by analyzing her content with AI.
Target Audience: Identify not just demographics but also values, pain points, and desires.
Messaging and Offers: List your products, services, and how you want your calls-to-action to guide your audience.
Kinsey’s own 80-page Brand Blueprint might sound daunting, but she notes that ChatGPT can help you create one in hours. By uploading key details about your brand, AI can even assist in structuring the document. For those who want a more guided approach, Kinsey offers a course specifically designed to help solopreneurs develop and execute their own Brand Blueprint, making the process approachable and efficient.
3. Share Examples of Existing Content
One of the best ways to train AI is to feed it content you’ve already created. Kinsey highlights this as a crucial step, especially for brands with unique voices. Examples might include:
- Social media posts.
- Emails to your audience.
- Transcripts from podcasts or videos.
- Blog posts.
These examples teach AI the specific tone, humor, and phrasing that makes your content uniquely you.
Analyze Your Content with AI
Once you’ve provided examples, take the next step by having AI analyze your content. This is where the magic starts to happen. Here are some things you could try asking:
- “What are the key characteristics of my brand voice in this social media post?”
- “How would you describe the tone and humor style in this email?”
- “Can you identify any recurring phrases or stylistic choices in these podcast transcripts?”
For instance, Kinsey realized that her brand leaned into self-deprecating humor only after ChatGPT pointed it out. By refining its understanding with this insight, she was able to get more accurate outputs.
6. Provide Feedback and Iterate
AI isn’t a set-it-and-forget-it solution. Kinsey emphasizes the importance of reviewing AI-generated content and providing feedback. This iterative process refines the AI’s understanding of your brand over time. For instance:
- If the AI uses language that feels off-brand, correct it and explain why.
- Encourage it to incorporate your preferred phrasing or stylistic choices.
Over time, these refinements result in outputs that require minimal edits.
7. Remember AI’s Limitations
It’s important to remember that AI is a tool, not a magic wand. While it can interpret language and learn patterns, it doesn’t understand the nuances of human communication the way you do. Always keep a “human-in-the-loop” approach by reviewing and editing its work to ensure it aligns with your brand’s values and messaging.
Top AI Tools to Personalize Your Brand Voice
There’s no shortage of AI tools promising to transform your workflow, but which ones are actually worth your time? Kinsey and I shared our go-to favorites that help streamline her branding process while keeping her content authentic and impactful.
1. ChatGPT: Your AI Content Creator
ChatGPT is a juggernaut for generating written content, from blog posts to email drafts. But if you don’t give it direction, it’s more likely to create content that’s scattered, off-brand, and a little all over the place.
To harness its true potential, you need to train it on your brand. Feed it your existing content—blog posts, emails, or even that slightly embarrassing LinkedIn rant—and give it detailed prompts. With a little effort, you’ve got yourself a finely tuned content machine that writes like you on your best day, without the caffeine jitters.
2. Descript: Streamlined Editing for Audio and Video
Descript isn’t just for podcasters—it’s a game-changer for anyone working with audio or video. Kinsey uses it to clean up podcasts, create transcripts, and even repurpose clips for social media.
•Pro Tip: Use Descript to generate a polished transcript that can be fed into ChatGPT for repurposing into other content formats.
3. Magai: Personalized Branding Assistant
Magai (affiliate) stands out for its ability to create custom personas that align with your brand’s voice and messaging. It’s ideal for entrepreneurs who want to go deeper in training AI to sound like them.
If you’re curious about Magai and how it works, check out my recent interview with Dustin Stout, where we explore its features and how to get started.
4. Other Honorable Mentions
•Grammarly for refining your writing.
•Canva AI for creating visual content that complements your brand.
Finding the Right Balance
Kinsey warns against falling into the “AI subscription trap,” where you end up paying for tools you rarely use. Start with one or two essentials, master them, and then expand as needed.
How AI Can Save Time and Prevent Burnout
For entrepreneurs and solopreneurs, burnout often feels like a rite of passage. But Kinsey believes it doesn’t have to be. With the right AI tools, you can reclaim hours of your time, freeing you up to focus on what truly matters—whether that’s scaling your business or taking a much-needed break.
Kinsey says AI saves her about 15 hours a week and 70 hours a month—time she uses to relax and bead jewelry.
Reclaiming Your Time
AI excels at automating repetitive, time-consuming tasks, giving you more mental bandwidth for creative and strategic work. Here’s how to make the most of it:
1. Delegate Low-Impact Tasks: Use AI to handle tasks like drafting emails, formatting blogs, or scheduling posts.
2 .Streamline Your Workflow: Kinsey uses AI to create everything from content outlines to polished posts, allowing her to focus on her clients and projects.
3 .Batch Process Your Content: Feed AI multiple pieces of content at once, letting it produce drafts across platforms in one sitting.
Focusing on High-Impact Work
By letting AI handle the busywork, you can focus your energy on tasks that require your unique expertise. Whether it’s developing a new product, connecting with your audience, or simply stepping away to recharge, AI can help you strike a better balance.
Preventing Burnout
Burnout doesn’t just affect your work—it impacts your creativity, relationships, and mental health. AI allows you to stay productive without running yourself ragged. By leveraging AI tools, Kinsey has found a way to avoid the constant grind while still delivering exceptional results for her business.
It’s not about doing more—it’s about doing what matters most.
A Real-World Example of AI-Powered Branding Success
One of the most exciting takeaways from Kinsey’s conversation was her example of helping a client achieve consistent branding across multiple platforms. By using AI strategically, the client was able to repurpose a single video into a full suite of content while maintaining their unique voice.
The Process
Here’s how Kinsey helped her client turn one piece of content into a multi-channel branding success:
1. Start with a Talking Head Video: The client filmed a casual video sharing their expertise.
2. Transcribe the Content: Kinsey used tools like Descript to create a text version of the video.
3. Train AI with Brand-Specific Prompts: She fed the transcript into ChatGPT, providing specific instructions to tailor the output for different platforms.
4. Repurpose for Platforms: The video was transformed into:
- A blog post for the website.
- Email newsletters for their audience.
- Captions for Instagram and LinkedIn.
The Results
The client was able to reach new audiences with content that felt personal, polished, and on-brand—all without spending extra hours writing from scratch.
Why It Matters
This success story highlights how AI can bridge the gap between efficiency and authenticity. With the right guidance, it’s possible to scale your content without sacrificing your unique voice.
Start Your AI Journey: Stay Authentic and Save Time

Kinsey Soderberg: [00:00:00] If you are just starting to learn AI tools, you are going to get bombarded with AI people being like, use all the tools all the time, completely AI ify your business. And like, that I think is the opposite of productivity because it’ll send you down two tracks.
It’ll either turn you into a deer in headlights where you’re like, There’s so many options. Never mind, I’m not going to use these tools I’ll push it to next month to start dipping my toes in, or it’ll send you down an AI rabbit hole where all of a sudden, you’re feeling like you need to learn everything about AI tools, and you’re not actually being productive in your business.

That personal touch. If so, you are in for an [00:01:00] exciting episode because this week, we’re thrilled to have Kinsey Soderbergh, an expert in AI tools, is going to show us how to train AI to represent our brand authentically.

Kinsey Soderberg: I am doing so great. Thank you so much for having me, guys. I tend to get super nerdy when it comes to this AI stuff, so just be ready for me to get a little overly excited here.
Jeff Sieh: We, you are among friends, uh, Kenzie. So we, we nerd out about this too.
Conor Brown: We are ready to nerd out. But before we nerd out, if you don’t know Kenzie, you should. With her brand and podcast, Authentic AI, Kenzie helps down to earth entrepreneurs leverage AI tools in their businesses without wasting time or sacrificing their authenticity. She focuses on a human first approach to AI that [00:02:00] brings the brand to the forefront, and she believes in using AI to get more done for the world.
more quickly without sacrificing quality and find a little wiggle room in there to actually enjoy your life. Thanks so much again for being here, Kinsey. We’re excited to have you.
Kinsey Soderberg: Oh, yes, thank you. I’m excited, too.
Jeff Sieh: So, I want to give a shout out to our sponsors of our show, the amazing folks at Ecamm, getting ready to head over to Creator Camp in like less, in a week, I guess, so it’s going to be crazy. But you can find out more about them at Ecamm. com forward slash Jeff. You can save, uh, 15 percent by using the code Jeff15 for your first purchase.
And listen, there’s been a lot of talk, like there’s this other company that has like hiked the prices. I’m not going to say its name. But it sounds like DreamGuard. Uh, anyway, that, by that time, you might as well go, uh, and without all that money you’re actually gonna spend, you know, buy a Mac Mini. Use Ecamm.
It’s amazing. It works all the time. We love it. Uh, Ecamm. com forward slash Jeff, thank you for sponsoring the show. So, uh. [00:03:00] Let’s just jump right in. We’re going to be talking about training AI to match your brand’s voice. Um, Kenzie, I heard you talk on a podcast that you mentioned comparing training AI to training an intern.
So how can entrepreneurs like effectively train AI to adopt their brand’s tone and that messaging?
Kinsey Soderberg: today.
being in Colorado right now, I always like to, um, compare a your AI assistant to that intern that it’s our first day on the job. They just came back in from maybe smoking a joint out back or something. And they’re like, uh, what do you want me to do? You know, and here’s because here’s the thing.
A lot of times when people just First start using these AI tools. They will go to chat GBT or a similar tool and be like, write me a social media caption. And then they get frustrated when the AI tool dishes up the most generic caption on the internet with like lots of emojis and [00:04:00] lots of power. Words that don’t make you sound human.
And. The issue is that if you compare it to that intern, think about an intern coming to your business first day on the job, they walk in the door and you’re like, write me a social media caption. And they’re like, uh, what do I do? And they’ll try to do a good job for you, but they’re not going to do the best job for your brand because you haven’t told them anything about your brand, your strategy, your voice, uh, the topic and your opinions on the topic, right?
So really, Best thing you can do when it comes to using these AI tools is to consider it as that human person that is doing something for you in your business. So making sure that you are designating a specific assignment or a specific job for it. Like, is it an assistant? Is it a coach? Is it a content creator?
Like thinking about it in that way first. Is a really great idea for then being able to instruct it in the way that [00:05:00] it needs to be instructed, but then also making sure that you’re starting every conversation by training it on the brand that you are dealing with. And I say that because usually you know what I’m talking to.
Down to our solopreneurs, I’m just like, train it on your brand. But I know we’re talking to a lot of social media people here and thinking about training on your client’s brand is a really great idea too. So when it comes to training your AI assistant on your brand, this can be done in like The easiest way ever, or you could get super nerdy deep dive with it and then get amazing results that are pretty much sounding like your brand from the get go.
Um, if you want to just go the easy route to start, literally all you have to do is brain dump, like just literally like Word vomit into the chat window. Whatever you can think of when it comes to your brand. Right? So like just telling it even my name is Kinsey. My brand is Authentic AI. We help down to earth, solopreneurs, use AI tools without sacrificing their authenticity, uh, like that will [00:06:00] already.
Get it to give me better results, right? But if you want to deep dive into it, I like to train it. I actually have this crazy document that I use to train my AI assistants. I call it the brand blueprint. It’s 80 pages. I don’t want to scare you, but ChatGPD helps me create this for my brand. So it actually only took a few hours to create, but literally it outlines.
The five core strategies of my brand, my brand’s identity, mission, vision, values, opinions, beliefs, my ideal customers, because chat GPT needs to know who it’s speaking to, right? So that goes deeper than just the demographics, the lifestyle, the values. It does include that, but it also includes, you know, the pain points, the desires, how I actually help my people.
Uh, also deep diving into my brand’s voice. This is so much more than just Right in a friendly tone, right? Like deep diving into all of those specific nuances. Your humor style is one of those huge things that can really help [00:07:00] ChatGPT write better copy for you. And then I also like to outline my offer suite.
And my messaging, because that really helps ChattyPT strategize and understand the strategy behind my content, where I want my call to actions to lead and how I want to craft my messaging in that way. And literally, with the brand blueprint, like, Oh man, I, I swear I’m so impressed by the results I’m getting and literally I never thought this could happen but I’m getting pretty much 90 percent there with the responses from chat GPT from the get go that sound like something I could have written and it’s saving me so much time.
I’m loving it.
Jeff Sieh: That’s amazing. 80 pages. That’s pretty cool.
Conor Brown: Yeah, that’s so cool. I love how you also brought up, you know, talking to solopreneurs. But then also, maybe talking to some agency side people, right? Who are running, you know, content for other brands that they might not have set up, but now they’re in charge of, of managing that brand. You talked a lot about, you know, the [00:08:00] importance of just giving it your brand voice, you know, what you stand for, your values and things like that, but I often think like, when we’re doing our own thing as solopreneurs, we might have our brand book somewhere, But a lot of what we’re doing on social is all from our head to our mouth to the camera, right?
Like we’re just trying to be authentic and, and be ourself, which I don’t know if you can necessarily put that in a brand book as much as you just do it with practice, right? You know what your brand is and you’re putting it out there. So what are some like practical steps beyond just coming up with these personas, whether it’s on Chat JPT or, or whatever language model you’re using?
What are some steps that businesses can take to just ensure that that AI generated content is really reflective of their, their values and their voice? Is it also just sharing, Hey, here’s my brand, but also here are some posts I’ve done in the past that really signify who I am?
Kinsey Soderberg: Yeah, completely. Actually, that’s the best way to train Chad [00:09:00] GPT on your brand of voice if you do have a very specific, unique brand voice. I’m one of those word nerds where I literally, I’m raising my hand over here, guys. Like, I did not think Chad would be able to get me because I’m like, I’m quirky.
I’m funny. You know, like I have this dorky brand voice. I’m like, uh, Chad GPT won’t ever be able to get me, but. If I, what, what you can do is feed it content that you have already written. This could look like emails to your email list, social media posts. This could even be transcripts from your podcast or your Instagram live videos or anything like that.
And have ChatGPT analyze that content and create your brand voice from there, right? And another thing I want to point out too, this is kind of funny. When it comes to having ChatGPT replicate your brand voice, it’s also important to remember that you might describe your brand voice in a specific way, but ChatGPT is a [00:10:00] robot that understands the denotations of words, not necessarily the connotations as much, and so it might describe your brand voice in a way that you Don’t think of it yourself.
So, for example, for my feel good social brand voice, my go to brand descriptive words are down to earth, straightforward, with dry wit, and self deprecating humor. And, uh, I did not realize I was self deprecating until I started working with ChadGBT in this process. That’s probably not something that I would have described myself as, or like my brand voice as, but Chat GPT understands what self deprecating means.
And as soon as I use that word to tweak the content that it’s writing for me, it nails it way more closely than like anything else, right? And so, um, yeah, really like giving it examples of the things that you’ve already written, having it Analyze that and then remembering that you are talking to a robot and trying to help understand your voice in a way that it can receive it is super helpful.
But when it comes to content [00:11:00] creation for my clients, for example, that’s one of my favorite ways to create content for my clients is I will take in a talking head Instagram reel that they just do off the cuff in the moment. I’ll transcribe that. I’ll put that into chat GPT and create the blog post from that.
Um, it’s what I call a human first approach to using AI tools. It’s. It’s bringing your own brand, your voice, opinions, beliefs to these tools and allowing it to help you do your work more quickly without expecting it to do all the work for you. So I will even tell it, this is what I think about this topic.
These are the tips I want you to include in this caption or in this blog post, you know, like not being like, write me a blog post about this. It’s like, write me a blog post about this, include this, this, this, this. And I’m getting my work done so much more quickly without getting frustrated because it’s not giving me what I want and feeling like I could have done it faster if I just did it myself.
Jeff Sieh: Right. So a couple of, I want to go to comments real quick, but, uh, one of the questions when you, when you mentioned that Kenzie is, are there [00:12:00] things that you do not use chat GPT or AI for, for like, for, for my example is I quit using it for my emails because my emails are to my audience. I want it to be all me unfiltered and have never have them have a question that, uh, I am writing to them in the email.
So that’s kind of a thing that. I just have said, do you have those kinds of things too? Like you use AI for everything, but, or something like that. What are your, what are your thoughts on that?
Kinsey Soderberg: Yeah, I love this question. And I think it truly is one of those things that you have to decide for yourself. That’s what I always encourage people to do is what are you comfortable using these tools for in your business? How are you comfortable using these tools in your business? And making sure that you are holding yourself up to that standard.
And also, if you have a Team, expressing that to your team and expressing like the quality of work that you expect still even while using these tools and also giving your team the things that they need, the experience, the tips that they need to be able to use these tools in the way that will [00:13:00] help them give you the best quality still, right?
So honestly, when it comes to me, I, Use AI tools for everything, but it’s kind of one of those things where it’s like, again, I use AI to help me along in my process and I don’t expect AI to do all of the work for me ever. So I am always bringing my own thoughts, critical thinking, creativity to these tools.
I’m working with it in collaboration. I’m editing the copy. It throws my way. I’m having it help me edit the copy and all I am then at the very end. Always running it through the filter of myself, my brand, every, like, I have a human touch to pretty much every part of the task with AI tools. So even with emails, you know, like I, I use it, I do, I use it for everything, but it’s still not always going to do the whole job for me for the most part.
Jeff Sieh: I think I call some, sometimes like we have that blank page syndrome where we just look and we’re like, I don’t even know where to [00:14:00] start. I think AI can help you. Prompt to get some, some ideas that way. We’ve got some great questions from the amazing audience that shows up every week that I want to bring up.
This is a great one from Ask Ralph. He says, do you add that 80 page doc to, uh, every, to, to every chat? Like, I mean, to all your AI inquiry. So how do you actually use that document in your process? Mm
Kinsey Soderberg: Oh yeah, it’s so awesome. So, um, a lot of AI tools have this feature. I use ChatGPT for the most part and ChatGPT, even the free version has this feature. Um, sometimes the free version is kind of slower with the answers or like doesn’t have as much back and forth capability. So I do pay for the premium version, but literally there’s a file upload feature.
That you’re just, it’s an, it’s an 80 page Google doc so that I can easily just like update it as needed, add to it as needed. Um, I have laid out my Google doc in a way where it’s like easy for chat TPT to read because I’ve created all these different headings and whatnot. Right. But [00:15:00] it’s a, it’s just a Google doc that I use the file upload feature and I upload it to every single one of my chat windows that I am using to, for my business in any way, right?
Cause it is my foundational brand strategy. So yes, I uploaded to every window, but I’m still creating that foundation that will allow Chachapiti to do the best work for me. So yes, I uploaded to every window, but If you, I don’t know if anyone has heard of custom GPTs, they’re like creating your own custom chatbots, right?
Um, and it is only available for the premium version of ChatGPT to create a custom chatbot. Free users can use them, but they can’t create them at this point, but you can use this 80 page document. To train a custom GPT on your brand too. Right? So if you do have the premium version, then you don’t have to keep uploading it to every new window.
You could just create a custom GPT if you wanted to.
Jeff Sieh: Very cool. I want, I do want to have, uh, our [00:16:00] pal, um, Dustin, who is the creator of Magi, if you guys don’t know, so you can go to magi.co/jeff to save some money on that. But anyway, he goes, um, you know, using AI without a persona attached is the worst way to use ai. You always give it a direction of personality and a.
That’s the one of the best things about, uh, Magi is you can have these custom personas. I saw Ralph, you were asking that as well. using Magi is a great way to easily get those, uh, personas on there. And that’s why, uh, Dustin actually created this brand voice generator persona. It helps users create a brand voice that AI can use, crafted with you to maximize the richness of the brand voice description.
So, Dustin, don’t tell him, but he’s pretty smart. Don’t tell him I said that. Um, but, uh, he’s got it all together. So, very, very cool.
Conor Brown: He is smart. I love that idea though of just, I mean, it’s so important to create the persona, right? And those three ways, whether you upload it each time, right? With a Google doc, whether you do a custom GPT, or if you’re using Magi where you can develop that persona, right? And they need three of those steps, but I think you really do have to start with that.
But what about Kinsey? Like, [00:17:00] just over time. As you use, you know, a language model more and more, how can you best help it learn about your business as you start to progress? Is it, ‘ cause my thing is always like I, me, I just always open up a new chat window, right? Like I’m just always, let’s start from scratch.
Whatever it is, I know what I have to ask it, but I’m always going from there. So how can you kind of just ensure that. As AI learns and interacts with your brand and your business more, that it’s helping to improve how it actually gives you, responses, uh, a bit better.
Kinsey Soderberg: Yeah. You know, it’s one of those things that it takes some like trial and testing. Really what you can think about it is, is this is a collaborative process, right? It’s not like just going to Google and doing a Google search and then finding the answer yourself within a bunch of different things, like having that conversation back and forth.
For more information on this and other social media [00:18:00] news, please visit the link in the description below. Have a great day! But that said, like, there is the caveat of chat windows do get exhausted. Like, I always just like to think of these as like a human assistant. Cause it makes, it makes it make more sense in my mind.
Right? Like if I tell that intern first day on the job, like, this is everything you need to know about my brand. And then at the end of the week, they’re more exhausted and they’re like, Forgetting things. That’s totally understandable. The same thing goes for your chat, GPT within a chat window. Um, it can get kind of exhausted.
So I mean, I, I do like to, you know, allow it, I do like to give it feedback, of course, collaborate with it, and it does learn over time and it does sometimes with chat GBT at least update its own memory where it’s like, oh, I’m gonna remember this about you, but like. I don’t always [00:19:00] trust that, you know? I always like to just think of it as a team member where I’m just stepping into my CEO, CEO role of my business and being like, this is what I want.
This is what I expect. Like, let me help you get this done. Like that. Can you help me get this done? You know? I am, For being as proactive in not getting frustrated with chat GPT as possible, right? So I’m always going to train it on my brand first to make sure that I’m trying to get the best responses possible out of it.
Uh, for example, when I’m writing a social media caption, I don’t just say, write me a social media caption, like as a social media manager, myself, I, and a word nerd, I usually know how I want my captions to go, how I want them to flow. But where I get stuck sometimes is. When I’m like, trying to find those specific like, for example, I know how I want like the outline of a caption to go in my head.
Normally, I can think of that off the top of my head. But then it’s like, kind of almost filling in the little blanks. And so what I will [00:20:00] do when I have chat GPT, write me the captions is I literally will give it the outline with fill in the blank spots, have it fill in the blanks for me based on my brand.
So it, see, it’s great. It’s, it comes up with great responses. It literally allows me to have it write captions for me in five minutes instead of me going back and forth with it for 30 minutes and then getting frustrated and feeling like, Oh, this is so AI written. I could have done this faster if I did it myself.
No, I told it exactly what I wanted from the get go. And then it will give me exactly what I want from the get go, you know?
Jeff Sieh: Yeah, and Dustin taught me this is like get it to ask you questions or clarifying questions that really can help nail down some stuff. And one of the things and we did this at actually Momentum in one of the demonstrations is that Uh, I asked, I love the voice feature of ChatGPT, I asked it, like, Who is Jeff Sieh?
And the cool thing was, and if you guys haven’t tried this yet, you should. Not Jeff Sieh, but you use your own, own name, like, you know, do your own, do you, do you. And, uh, I said, Who am I? And it gave me this great [00:21:00] up to date, um, bio that I could use. Like, it was amazing. Like, usually before, if you just do a Google search, you’ll get all some old Pinterest stuff and all that kind of stuff, but then, This gave me a great bio that I actually use for, for doing that.
So that kind of leads to a question. Uh, Kinsey, can AI help you refine your brand’s voice or should you really just try to replicate it? Does that make sense?
Kinsey Soderberg: Yeah, I mean, I think it depends on you. And who you are. I have a, I have a distinct brand voice and I’m a word nerd where I literally I love writing, you know, and I do have like, those little quirky things that I add to a lot of my copy that like, is just kind of me. And, and at the same time, chatgpd totally has given me insights about my brand.
I didn’t know I was self deprecating. Apparently I am, you know, like, and that makes sense. But like, I didn’t know that about myself. Um, I think it can go either way, right? I think if you already have your established [00:22:00] brand voice personality, then like the best thing you can start with is feeding it your own content and having it analyzed that for you so they can replicate it.
But it can also totally help you, you know, The more define your brand voice and really like discover things about yourself. I didn’t, you didn’t know, right. I actually have a course for my brand blueprint, um, that helps other people create their own brand blueprints. And I literally just went through a get it done week with my students and they were all like, Oh, wow.
This is like awesome. Like, it’s just such a great feeling to have chat GPT reflect back to you. Those things that you already know about yourself, but like you couldn’t really put into words before, like, what is my brand’s archetype? Oh, chat GPT can help you figure that out. And it kind of gives you this definition.
It kind of. It gives you a little bit more confidence and clarity in your brand. And especially like as a solopreneur who you’re like, I just wanted to start this like crafting business. I didn’t know I’d have to learn marketing and branding too. Like, [00:23:00] and you’re like, I don’t know what this looks like.
Well, chatGPT can help you figure that out. And it helps you be able to have more confidence in it and also make better decisions for your brand. You know, it helps you step into that. Well, understanding this is what my brand believes in. This is how my brand speaks to my perfect people. This is what they need from me.
This is their pain points, desires. Like I think it’s a really fun process to deep dive into your brand with ChattyBT and understand more things about yourself too.
Jeff Sieh: Mm hmm. Yeah. We’re still trying to understand Connor. So it just breaks every
Conor Brown: Well, here’s, well, I mean, well, here’s the thing. I mean, I love that, you know, asking it who you are and it gives you something back. I mean, I asked, Hey, who is Connor Brown? It says, you’re a tough NHL player. And I’m like, absolutely. I am. And then I realized there’s actually a Connor Brown that plays for the Edmonton Oilers.
I guess that’s the curse of with a lot of Brown, but we’ll get there. We’ll get
Jeff Sieh: Eventually. Charlie, this is a great question. Um, before you jump in [00:24:00] with yours, uh, there, Connor, I want to pull this up for, from Ralph. He goes, so what content would you feed it? Like, Ralph does a daily podcast. What should he feed it? Should he go get all, a lot of his transcripts from his podcast and use that to train the AI?
How would you, what would you tell Ralph to do in this situation to kind of train, uh, ChatGPT?
Kinsey Soderberg: Yeah, totally. Um. I always encourage my students to find the content that is the most reflective of your brand personality and like how like the stuff that you’re most confident in like this is how I speak to my people right and I can look like a lot of different mediums that could be social media captions, emails, videos, podcast transcripts.
Yes, definitely. Like lots of different things, but whatever feels like the truest reflection of your brand. I think three to five is fine because you’ll find that there are a lot of like, similarities and you don’t really need more than five examples for sure. But then I do encourage people to try to find, um, a variety of examples when it comes [00:25:00] to The style of writing or the style of voice or how you would speak to people, right?
So I will usually find like a how to tips example. I’ll find a personal storytelling example. I’ll find a, uh, like even customer testimonial or just like a variety of content where it’s like your brand voice might slightly vary, right? And then when it comes to having ChatGPT analyze that, I usually analyze one piece at a time and I have it Deep dive into archetypes, writing style, formatting, tone of voice, humor style, lots of different things for each piece of content.
As I’m feeding more into Jajipedi, I will have it compare and contrast and find the different nuances between the two. And then I’ll have it create a final brand voice analysis that is like detailing all of those things overall, and then also describing the different nuances of how I might speak in different contexts.
Jeff Sieh: That’s really cool.
Conor Brown: love that. I mean, I think, you know, in. Every day there’s a new [00:26:00] AI tool, right? I think if the website is, is there an AI for that? And you can just look up and it’s constantly generating what the latest AI tool is. Some of them are really, really, really good. Some of them are not. Some of them are really just.
A developer having fun putting something out there, right? So I think finding the right tool that can effectively come across with authenticity, especially when it’s talking about your brand, is really, really, really important. So Kinsey, what are some AI tools that, that you in particular love to use? I mean, we talked about ChatGPT, of course, but the ones that you think are best for creating content that sound, you know, like they’re written by a human, like they’re authentic and really helps you with your brand.
Kinsey Soderberg: Yeah, I mean, okay, so, this is gonna be hilarious because I literally just interviewed Dustin from Magi, like, this week, and shout
Jeff Sieh: Magi commercial
Kinsey Soderberg: she also
Jeff Sieh: Yeah,
Kinsey Soderberg: connected us. Um, but, okay, so, I, I think that if you are wanting to test out different AI [00:27:00] tools, I mean, Magi sounds awesome, like, literally, and I actually signed up for the affiliate as well.
I sent out to my email list already, I was like, guys, we gotta try this. If you are an AI tool hopper. I’m calling them, uh, who likes to try out, you know, and it’s true, you know, there are so many tools out there. They do very similar things, but they can give you slightly different answers. And so sometimes when ChachiPT is having a day where it’s PMSing, let’s be honest, it does have those days, then you might want to hop over to Claude or Microsoft Copilot or Gemini and have, see what it gives you for the day.
Right. And so I think Magi is a great tool for that. I myself, Uh, as an AI podcaster, as an AI nerd who’s getting elbows deep and all this stuff, I have had to set boundaries with myself when it comes to using iTools, because believe me, for the first two months, I started probably 50 subscriptions to things that I didn’t necessarily need, and then I had to have a come to Jesus moment with myself, where I was like, Kinsey, stop signing up for so much stuff.
So, I [00:28:00] tend to limit myself to, I really only use, um, ChatGPT, I use Descript, and I use a smattering of other AI tools as needed, um, and also AI integrations with other software that I already use, but I try to keep it as simple for myself as possible. I know how to work with ChatGPT, and it works for me, so that’s what I stick with.
But I will say, like, I always tell people just one tool, one task, one day at a time. If you are just starting to learn AI tools, then you are going to get bombarded with AI people being like, use all the tools all the time, you know, completely AI ify your business. And like, that I think will, is the opposite of productivity because it’ll send you down two tracks.
It’ll either turn you into a deer in headlights where you’re like, There’s so many options. Never mind, I’m not going to use these tools I’ll push it to next month to start dipping my toes in, or it’ll send you down an AI rabbit hole where all of a sudden, you’re feeling like you [00:29:00] need to learn everything about AI tools, and you’re not actually being productive in your business.
So, I always like to make it as approachable and easy on yourself as possible and set boundaries and remind myself that like, I don’t have to use all the AI tools at once. My goal when using these tools is to be more productive in my business. And I will slowly get there. I’ll slowly start integrating tools into my own workflows.
And actually I have a few tips for how to start integrating AI tools into your business. so much for
Jeff Sieh: and real quick, and I promise this is, Magi does not sponsor the show, but the one cool thing is, as we talked about trying these different things out, is having So, uh, I’m really excited to be able to pay one subscription and be able to use all the tools. It’s really, really cool, folks. It really, really is.
Like, um, it’s an arms race right now. Like, you know, people say, well, by the, by the year long subscription, I would not do that with an AI tool. Because it just, it changes so much. Like, things like, [00:30:00] one day, I remember, um, when we first started with AI, it um, There was a limit, there still is, but it was a smaller limit to ingest information.
Like I remember copying and pasting and doing these little web hacks to try to get my entire transcript of my show into chat GPT and then Claude came out and it had more. So I went over there and used that. Well, then, then chat GPT had, you know, their custom GPT. So there, there are all, there’s going to be all these things going back and forth and having a spot where you can pay one fee.
And not do what Dustin calls, you know, the, the subscription ping pong, which is very, very true. Um, it’s really, really cool. So, uh, just because they are, I mean, especially with like image tools, like they’ll come out with new things. Mid journey, we’ll have an update. Well then, you know, Leonardo will have one and it’s just, it’s this arms race.
So go in and having one spot where you can go in there and do that is really, really handy. Now, I’m so excited to talk about Dustin’s, you know, his commercial. Now I’m lost. But anyway, let’s go back to, I want to talk to, I want you to talk about, you know, your, your integration that you just mentioned, Kenzie.
Like, [00:31:00] when you onboard or you start to actually get people inside of the AI universe, what are your kind of first steps for that?
Kinsey Soderberg: Not be productive in your actual business. And so when it comes to starting to use AI tools in your business, there’s two types of tasks that you can think of. Firstly, consider the workloads and processes that you already have. And get curious about how can I start using AI tools in these processes that are already working for me, right?
So for me, I have my content creation systems and workflows, and it’s like, okay, well now I’m integrating ChatGPT into helping me write the captions and to help me brainstorm ideas, all these different things. I’m going to ChatGPT and I’m literally adding things. The AI tool to my SOPs and all [00:32:00] that different stuff, right?
So it is helping me along in this process. Same thing for my podcasting workflows. Man, I have recently established my Descript podcast editing workflow and I’m so excited about it and it’s saving me literally, like it’s helping me edit four times, 4. 5 times faster. I was nerdy and did the math with it.
Um, so think about that. The systems you already have, you do not need to revamp the stuff that’s already working for you. Instead, it’s a little bit better and you’ll get better at using AI tools if you slowly start integrating it into those workflows that are already working. So that is the first thing I would do is think through the workflows that you already have established.
Now the second type of task that AI can help you with, and literally this is probably 50 50 for the productivity, like AI helps me boost my productivity 50% with like. Integrating into my workflows, but this also helps me boost my productivity so much. And that is using AI tools in my everyday tasks. As I’m working along in my business and you [00:33:00] hit a pressure point, you hit a block and all of a sudden you’re like, you’re like banging your head against the keyboard or you’re like twiddling your thumbs.
And you’re like, there’s something happening here. That’s like getting me stuck in my day to day. That is when AI tools can be so, so helpful. And literally, you go to ChatGPT and it can help you with so many things that you didn’t even realize it might be able to help you with. Uh, so for example, writer’s block, right?
You’re typing along in your day to day writing a caption and you’re like, uh, I don’t know how to finish this thing. Well, that’s something you can go to ChatGPT and have it help you finish that. Or you’re like, uh, what’s another way to say this? This thing, I know what I want to say, but I don’t know how to say it in a different way.
Like that’s when ChatGPT can help you too. And that’s helping you save time by simply not wasting it. Another example though, too, is like, for example, I created a sales page for one of my courses and I wanted to add a countdown timer to my Squarespace website. One of the things that I hate so much in my life is having to go [00:34:00] search for an answer in a tech forum.
It’s like, just makes me go like cringe. I hate it. Well, I went to chat GPT and spit out a code that helped me add a countdown timer to my Squarespace website in five minutes, and I didn’t have to waste 30 minutes trying to find that down a Squarespace tech forum, right? So, This one is a little bit interesting because the day to day tasks is something that you almost need to train yourself to do, right?
To go to strategy PT, to have it help you with that. Because when you first start using these tools, you don’t even really think about the possibility that AI can help you with this. So this is a very cool Piece of technology that I have started using. I took a sticky note, I wrote it. I wrote Can chat GPT help me with this on it?
And I stuck it next to my computer screen. And when I was first starting to use these tools, I would like hit that pressure point in my business and I’d be like, Ugh. And I’d like roll my eyes. and see the sticky note over here next to my computer screen and be like, Oh, can ChatGPT help me with this?
And then I’d go to [00:35:00] ChatGPT and just ask it, can you help me with this? Uh, 90 percent of the time it can, and then the other 10 percent of the time it could point me towards something that can. Right? So, um, those are the two types of tasks that I would think about starting to integrate AI tools into. And, um, the sticky note technique, it sounds dorky, but it totally works in training yourself to use these tools more.
Jeff Sieh: that’s awesome. A sticky note Connor is one of those things that you can peel. I don’t know if you’ve seen them before. It’s, it’s been around for a while. Okay.
Conor Brown: You have to handwrite that. I don’t know anything about, I definitely don’t know cursive. That’s for sure. What’s the point of looking at? That, uh, Gary brought up that I want to point out and I’ll just read it, Jeff. He said he made a GPT, a custom GPT to help him update older blog posts to resonate more with my target personas.
And he says it’s interesting the feedback it has. I think that’s really cool that maybe over the course of however long you’ve been doing this, your personas change or your offerings change. And you still have all this great content that might be relevant to your former self, right? It just needs a little [00:36:00] bit of a tweaking or an update or something like that.
So I think that’s a really cool tip to, to do to upgrade all of that content you already have to make it more in line with where you are. Um, we’ve talked a lot about, you know, written word sort of style, how that can help in, in your brand voice. Kinsey, I know you mentioned you use Descript. We’re big Descript fans here.
Um, they have a lot of AI tools built within, uh, the software itself. Underlord, because the Overlord is too scary, but Descript’s Underlord. How about making something like that? And, using a tool like Descript to help you, uh, uh, create authentic sounding content, not just in the written medium, Descript is all video, audio based, but how can you train tools outside of just a word, chat GPT, to help those tools be more authentic for your brand.
Kinsey Soderberg: Yeah, I, I love using Descript, too, and, um, Jeff, I think you need a little Descript slash Jeff
Jeff Sieh: I know I have it. I just, I didn’t think about it today. Yeah. It’s
Kinsey Soderberg: Yeah. No, [00:37:00] it’s, Descript is so awesome and it makes video editing, podcast editing so easy. Um, I think that with Descript, again, you know, it, it is interesting to think about training it on your brand because it is kind of.
Both the video editing AI and then also the, um, kind of like more generative AI as well mixed in there with the underlord and stuff. Um, within Descript the underlord does have several just like One click buttons, that’s pretty easy to use for, you know, it has writing blog posts, writing social media captions, generate titles, uh, summaries, you know, different things like that.
And also within each of those buttons, there are the little spaces where you can add more instructions. So I do recommend when you’re using the Underlord and having ChatGPT find your social media clips even, which that’s one of my favorite features. It’s makes it so easy. And it’s. It’s honestly better than Opus Clip is another AI tool I
Jeff Sieh: Preach. Preach. Yeah, that’s
Kinsey Soderberg: Yes, I was [00:38:00] using Opus Clip before Descript updated its Underlord and now I’m like, guys, get rid of Opus. It’s like just another subscription, you know, um, but, you know, you can say you can tell when Uh, Descript is finding you social media clips. You can tell it, like, make these interesting for down to earth socialpreneurs or something.
So yeah, solopreneurs, you know, um, you can say focus on this topic or get very, very specific with the topics or whatever it is, you know, so giving it more instructions in that way. Um, So Descript, I’m not sure if people really No Descript can do this. And it is a little clunky. Um, I actually asked Jeff to add an integration for Descript into Magi, too.
So we’re waiting on that, Jeff. But I asked him this week, guys, so he’s still, he’s still working on it. But, um, yeah, so The Underlord is a, an AI model within itself and you can prompt it like you would prompt chat GPT and not just use those buttons, right? So up at the top, there’s a little bar that you can type into and you can type your own prompts into that [00:39:00] bar.
And so that’s actually what I use for my, um, podcast show notes every week. I could use the Descripts automated button where I’m like, write me a show note, but it doesn’t give me what I want. Like, I write my show notes with, like, cute little stars for every bullet point, and like, I, you know, I write it in a specific way every week with my voice, and the automated Descript stuff doesn’t give it to me, so what I will use then, I actually have this prompt just, like, ready to copy paste every week, and I will say, please write me a summary show notes, um, I think I’m like, uh, replicating this style or like based on this style or something.
And then in quotation marks, I copy paste my show notes from the last episode and I give it the exact example based on this example is what I say. Um, so in the under Lord, I share my exact example of show notes and it gives me great actually responses right from the get go. I don’t even have to train it on my brand voice or anything.
If I give it an example to replicate, it just [00:40:00] automatically writes. The show notes in the same formatting that I want and also the same, um, silo voice and everything that I want to. And so that’s really nice. I also use my own prompt for generating a list of keywords for my YouTube and Buzzsprout podcast episodes and stuff.
I’ll just say generate a list of keywords based on this episode. I use that. Like, individual prompt every week, too. So just remembering that you can prompt these tools, um, sharing examples for it to replicate is like super, super helpful, and I found that works really well with Descript.
Jeff Sieh: So I have the same thing. I have the show notes that I wanted to look and I use that. I say, use this and, you know, create it. The other thing that’s really cool, it’s still clunky like you said in the script. I like those find good clips where it does, it goes through your transcript and pulls those out.
You can click one button and it turns, Whatever template you have, apply it to it. It’s so fast. If you’ve seen the ones that Abby’s been doing, where we have like our guest and then Conor Eye on the side, that’s all built into script. Like, we’ve created that template. We [00:41:00] can click a button and it’s done.
It has the, the bar at the, the bottom. But one of the things you can do is a lot of times if you just click, you know, find good clips, it’s gonna, sometimes it’ll give me talking and I don’t want me talking. That’s the last thing people want to see. They want to see my guest. No one wants to see that, right, Connor?
And so what I do is I say, you know, find clips of this, the guest, the guest’s name. And most of the time it works. Once in a while, it’ll still, you know, it gets a little wonky, but that helps kind of narrow the focus and I can find those clips quicker. You can also change from 30 seconds to up to 300 seconds, which is about five minutes, which can be a YouTube video.
So, uh, it’s really, really, really, really powerful. So, uh, the script, as you know, we love it. Kara says this, let me pull this comment up. She goes, I’ve started using AI to research industries when I have a client and, uh, in a vertical I haven’t worked in before, always have to fact check, but it’s a huge help.
That’s a great idea. Thanks, Kara, for that.
Conor Brown: One, one great thing for that, which we [00:42:00] started using Perplexity, which gives you the sources right there. That’s something great for a research sort of thing, Perplexity AI.
Jeff Sieh: Yeah. Yeah. So this, this last question in this section, uh, uh, Kinsey, I wanted to ask you, can you share like a success story? Where a business, maybe it’s one of your clients or somebody you know, used AI to maintain that brand voice, not just in one channel, but like multiple channels. Like they’re using the tools to help them go, like omni channel kind of a thing.
Do you have any examples of that?
Kinsey Soderberg: Yeah, I mean, a lot of my Students will be using, like, they’ll create their brand blueprint sort of thing and then they will bring their content to AI and be like, help me repurpose this into an email, into, it’s really great if you can bring the piece of content that you’ve already created and then turn that into so many different things.
I do this for my own social media clients every month actually, like I said, I start with a talking head [00:43:00] video that they’ve just, Recorded from the heart of like sharing tips with their audience. I’ll turn, I’ll turn that transcript into a blog post, expand it into a blog post, making sure that I’m using their own words, their own perspective, beliefs, and tone of voice.
Then I turn that into lots of different Instagram reels, brainstorming different hooks, and then writing the captions for it. Then I turn that into LinkedIn posts and emails and all the different things, right? So I think that If you can, train, chat, GPT. on your brand from the get go and bring your own piece of content, that one solid piece of content to this tool.
And then ChattyPT is so good at repurposing from there. Um, because there are, and especially too, if you do deep dive into your brand voice and offering it those different examples with like the different nuances based on like how you might speak differently to a different person on an email. Versus the social media caption or just understanding the strategy [00:44:00] behind each of those two.
Um, it makes it super, super quick to just repurpose content across the board in that way. I mean, I think that it all starts with training strategy beyond your brand first, so that understands your strategies and then. It makes it just so easy to just repurpose and continue, like, making it really, really, uh, consistent across the board.
and the cool thing too, is that AI can understand and hold those nuances, those slight differences. That, um, it’s hard for us to sometimes put into words in between platforms.
Jeff Sieh: Yeah, I think that’s great. And then, and you can also tweak it, uh, a little bit for each one. And yeah, there’s so many good things that let you go omni channel with, I want to bring up real quick one more comment, uh, our friend Rich Watt says, I’m mainly here to monitor your content. Conor’s hairstyle. But the stuff I learned turns out to be a pleasant surprise. You know, something that doesn’t go out of style like Conor’s hairstyle is our friends over at [00:45:00] Ecamm. You can find out more about them by going to ecamm.
com forward slash Jeff. You can save, uh, 15 percent by using Jeff 15, uh, at checkout on your first purchase. It’s really cool. And, uh, by the way, it’s Creator Camp’s coming. I’m going to see Conor will be there. A lot of people are going to be there. Um, it’s going to be amazing. So I can’t wait to see all my friends at Ecamm.
But go check them out. Thank you for them for sponsoring the show. All right. So let’s go into our final section. We got a couple of minutes left. Um, Conor, go ahead. Take this first question.
Conor Brown: Yeah. Well, thanks so much, Rich, for commenting on my hair. It’s having a day, as we say in the business. Um, we’ve talked so much about, about AI helping us with our brand, with being effective, right? With authenticity. We’ve commented a lot, though, on efficiency. Right? Which I think the great part of AI is blending those two together, right?
Something can be efficient, but if it isn’t authentic, then who cares? It’s just garbage, right? It’s not really helping you create valuable content. So when it comes to AI, Kinsey, I want to know, like, once you first got it, So, trained and it [00:46:00] knows your brand and knows your voice and it’s authentic, what was that one task where once it could take it over, you were like on the verge of tears like, Oh my God, I never have to do this again.
And then just comment a little bit more about how it has helped you be more efficient overall.
Kinsey Soderberg: Oh, yeah. I mean, what one task? I mean, there’s so many, right? Like, like the, the tech forums, not having to go down the tech forums. I’ve had, I’ve had ChadGPT help me with so many different coding things, and even for my emails, like, I actually had ChachiPD help me create a code that I can add to emails that I send out that allow this little, like, uh, copy paste prompt box kind of thing.
I’ll share some of my AI Reels prompts with my email list and, like, have it help me. I had it help me create a code for that, which is super fun. So, coding has been super helpful. Um, you know, I am a word nerd. I truly love writing, but it takes me so long to write a caption. [00:47:00] I’ll be honest, it used to take me like 60 minutes to write a social media caption for my brand because I would labor over every word, and I know it’s dumb, but I would, and now with Tragic BT, literally I can write a caption And edit that caption that ChatterGPD produces for me in like 10 minutes.
And it still sounds like me because of kind of things I already mentioned before, trading on my brand, but then also giving it those formula prompts, the fill in the blank prompts. Um, and like, you know, being able to do that so much more quickly is just such a relief. The podcast show notes, man, I literally like,
Jeff Sieh: yeah.
Kinsey Soderberg: entire episode.
And by the end I’m like, Oh my gosh, I hate the sound of my voice. I’m like, I’m so dumb. What the heck did we just talk about? And I hate writing podcast shows at the end. Cause I’m just like burnt out. And so that has just been so helpful. You know, I, I. I really, really have just been loving using AI tools in so many different ways.
I actually, um, did the [00:48:00] math in like a really nerdy way of how much time I’m saving every day, week, and month using AI tools. And this is, you know, realistic numbers. I’m not one of those people who are like, great, 30 days of content in 30 seconds. Like this is taking into account. All the things, but I actually found out I’m saving on average three hours a day, 15 hours a week and 70 hours a month using AI tools in my business.
And I think back, like, I’m like, is this real? Like, am I really doing this? And I think back about how much I have done, how much more I have done in the past year and how much more time I have to relax and like craft and like go camping. And I’m like. No, this is legit. Like, this is true. And also, I mean, I mean, let’s talk about boundaries and burnout and business, but I’m also growing two brands and two podcasts at the same time right now and doing it so much more easily, creatively, and like effortlessly than when I was just growing [00:49:00] one brand and one podcast for the past four years.
Right. So it truly is. These tools truly can help us so much. And it’s just, it’s, you don’t have to completely revamp your entire business right away. It’s even just like Saving that time that you’re not wasting anymore, like I was saying, that truly adds up, and I just can’t recommend people just starting to dip their toes in enough.
Jeff Sieh: If I, I mean, you talked about show notes. if I, if that was the only thing I could do with it, I would be tickled pink, but that you can do so much more, but I used, I was the same way. I dreaded doing show notes because it was the last thing you wanted to do before you hit publish.
You’re like, oh my gosh. Yeah, I remember that. Um, but Dustin was saying too, he goes, yeah, yeah, same. He loves big words, but writing a single blog post would usually take him about 20 to 40 hours. Yeah. And he wrote, he wrote a lot back in the Google Plus day. There you go, Chris Stone, you can take a drink. Um, last question I wanted to ask you, you kind of talked about it just a little bit, but, um, how does using AI in a way that feels authentic help entrepreneurs achieve [00:50:00] a better work life balance?
You mentioned you have more time. Are there any other things other than time that it helps you do that you, like, in the, because we’re always talking about work life balance, that may be, you know, not even true if there is a such a thing as a work life balance, but. What are your thoughts on that?
Kinsey Soderberg: Yeah, I mean and you know, it’s so funny. I think that it really really helps you To step into your role as a CEO in your business, you know, there’s so many things that I can, is helping me do that I didn’t even realize. And I’m really excited about it because, and especially thinking about future generations with the kids that are now growing up and like, they are only really going to know AI, you know, and, um, And people are really concerned about what is this going to do to our children?
Is it going to like, you know, deprive us of critical thinking skills or creativity and all that different stuff. But I truly think that if we’re using AI tools in a thoughtful and intentional way, that it actually helps us improve our [00:51:00] creativity and it can actually help us improve our leadership skills, thinking about delegating tasks, giving instructions that are clear to these AI tools.
Um, when you start using these tools, they really do help you to expand your creativity. This is another thing I’m geeking out to about, uh, Dustin in our conversation just earlier this week is, um, thinking about the creative burnout, right? He was like, not only can AI tools help you expand your creativity, but it can also help you relieve the creative burnout, um, that you feel.
And I had one of those moments where I was like, I’ve been a social media manager for five years, you know, with multiple clients and stuff. And I had that memory feeling in my body of like three years ago, that feeling of like just managing six clients and creating content for these six clients, having to task switch, brand switch.
And like, I was having fun with it. I was being creative with it. But like, and I was loving it. And the creativity was like driving me into like this just like burnout place. So I was just like, it’s too much. Right. And I didn’t even realize that I [00:52:00] haven’t felt that for the past year. You know, like I think that AI tools can help us in so many different ways, like, and, yes, boost our productivity and then also remembering to set boundaries, to give yourself some wiggle room and time behind the space, behind the scenes to, uh, relax, to have fun, to do unproductive things, right?
I’ve recently picked up beading, like, literally created like bead jewelry and stuff and it’s like so fun and every day I’m like, wait, do I have time for this? Like, yeah, I do. Okay. . Cool. This is great. You know? And also too, I would love to mention real quick, if you don’t mind, for any women who are out there listening to this, this is something that has really been popping up a lot for me lately and has been getting fired up guys, there’s been studies done actually that.
Men are two times more likely to use the top 50 AI tools than women, um, as for a few different reasons, it’s because, you know, as women, we’ve been kind of [00:53:00] told that we’re not meant to be, to go into STEM subjects, you know, we’ve been kind of brought up to think that we’re not as Techy as men necessarily.
So we take a little bit more time to embrace the new technology out there and stuff. But also something that’s really interesting to me when it comes to women using AI tools is because, um. Women have to be a little bit more concerned with the way that they show up in the world with their authenticity because we have to be concerned that way because we’re more likely to be judged or if we want to be respected, right?
And so a lot of times women do shy away from using AI tools. And also there’s another side of that coin where I remember the first time I was asked in a podcast interview, who are you? So what do you say to the women who, who feel guilty for using AI tools, who feel like they’re cutting corners and they’re not doing the work, right?
And I was like, this is a thing. Like, oh, uh, because we do like we, we have to show up, we have to do the work when, I mean, it’s just a [00:54:00] kind of a fact when men You know, do some things that are considered innovative, they’re considered delegating. When women do some things that’s considered cutting corners or we’re not doing the work and we have to do the work to be respected in our society.
And it’s a problem because when tools have been proven to boost your productivity by 40%. That’s like working two extra days a week. If you think about that in the workplace, the men who are using AI tools are more likely to get the promotion or get the raise or be applauded. Whereas, you know, if women aren’t using AI tools, we’re more likely to get left behind.
And so it’s one of those things. Things where it’s like, I really just like to encourage more women to embrace using AI tools. It’s not cutting corners. It’s using a tool to help you boost your productivity, and you can use these tools in a way that it doesn’t sacrifice your authenticity or values your quality of work.
Right? And so. It really is about [00:55:00] flipping the script for ourselves. And then the other thing too I always like to bring up as well is that AI tools are trained by the users. So if more men are using AI tools or marketers are using AI tools or whatever it is, um, these tools are being trained on that. And we need more like variety in these tools. Any underrepresented people who aren’t using these tools, like just using these tools is doing your part to make sure that AI tools are like. Well rounded in the future, right?
Jeff Sieh: Yeah, I, I do. And comments are already going in there. And like Peg said, yeah, got no one would say that to a dude. Like, I can’t believe that was said on that podcast. and then Gary says that women, you know, the cool thing is, is women are starting business at almost twice as rate of men.
And, you know, that plays in right to what you were you’re talking about that This is not just For men to use these tools for everybody, it can open up doors for everybody. So I think that’s really good. So thank you for taking the time to just, to say that to the people in our audience, cause they need to hear it.
Um, finally, really quickly, but we’re out of [00:56:00] time. This has been so amazing. Um, this is great from Dustin and Dustin says this, he goes, everyone here needs to follow Kinsey, her AI understanding and insights. All right, it’s top quality, and he doesn’t say that lightly. And Dustin knows a thing or two about AI, so that’s really good.
And of course, Peg said, I am legit shocked that it took 54 minutes for Google Plus to come up. Because, yeah, both Peg and Dustin and I met over on Google Plus, so it’s kind of funny. Um, this has been amazing, Kinsey. I want to give you, uh, the final, floor here to, uh, tell everybody about your products, what you got, where to follow you, your podcast, all the things.
The floor is now yours.
Kinsey Soderberg: Oh guys, thank you so much for having me. I, I know I could like yap your ear off for
Jeff Sieh: No, this is
Kinsey Soderberg: hours. okay. So thank you so much guys. If you want to connect with me, DIYwith. ai is my website. You can find all my things there. I do have the Authentic AI for Entrepreneurs podcast, which Dustin’s going to be a guest on and actually [00:57:00] Peg has an interview scheduled, so she’ll be a guest on that as well.

AI training tool. And then I also, if you’re interested in content creation, have the Reels prompt playbook for ChatGPT. This is just my free download that shares, um, 10 different prompts for AI Reels hooks and captions. And this is literally how I create my Reels every day. It’s just like the Reels hooks prompts and the Reels.
Captions, um, with chat GPT and it’s kind of those fill in the blank prompts like I was talking about. If you wanna just give those a test run, but it makes it so easy and just so nice to have this like, [00:58:00] library of reels created in my drafts. I can just like, send out every day. So, um, that’s what I’d recommend if you wanna check it out.
Jeff Sieh: Awesome. We’ve got so many great comments. Uh, so, uh, our friend Amy Keys goes, So helpful. Thank you all. She said, I missed the first 10 minutes, but she can’t wait to go back and watch. Uh, Kira says, Snaps for Kenzie. I felt the guilt before, but the truth is using AI tech is so beneficial for all of us.
Preach, sister. So thank you for that. Um, so very, very cool. Um, before we go though, we got a, the unsinkable Connor Brown. Where can people find out about all things? Conor.
