How to Create Content Faster and Smarter with Ramon Ray’s Expert Insights
If you’ve ever wondered how some creators manage to churn out high-quality content at lightning speed—without losing their sanity—you’re in the right place.
We sat down with Ramon Ray, entrepreneur, author, and host, to unpack his secrets for content creation, AI-driven workflows, and personal branding.
Whether you’re a solopreneur, small business owner, or creator looking to streamline your process, Ramon’s insights will help you work smarter, not harder.
Meet Ramon Ray: Content Machine and Business Expert
Ramon Ray isn’t just another content creator—he’s a high-energy, no-nonsense entrepreneur who’s built multiple successful businesses. He’s the publisher of ZoneofGenius.com, a small business growth hub, and the host of The Rundown with Ramon, a USA Today show covering business trends and insights.
He’s also a sought-after keynote speaker who’s interviewed the likes of President Obama and all five Shark Tank sharks. If anyone knows how to build a brand and create content that resonates, it’s Ramon.
How to Do Quick, High-Impact Content Creation
Ramon has one big advantage: he doesn’t overthink content. While some creators agonize over perfect production, he believes in “fake podcasting”—a term he coined to describe spontaneous, in-the-moment content creation.
His process is simple:
- Leverage the News – He subscribes to multiple business and finance newsletters like Inc., Entrepreneur, and many others to stay informed. Instead of reinventing the wheel, he delivers insights in his own unique style.
- Batch and Automate – He downloads transcripts from live shows, runs them through AI tools like Claude for summaries, and quickly repurposes them into blog posts, YouTube descriptions, and social media captions.
- Prioritize Speed Over Perfection – Instead of obsessing over flawless videos, he focuses on getting content out there. A polished 60-minute production means nothing if it takes weeks to publish.
Pro Tip: Done is better than perfect. The key to staying consistent is having a repeatable process that doesn’t drain your time or energy.
The Power of the Prompt: Turning Everyday Moments into Content
One of the biggest struggles content creators face? Overthinking. They sit on an idea, second-guess whether it’s “good enough,” and by the time they’re ready to post, the moment has passed.
Not Ramon.
His secret? He lets the world around him prompt his content. Whether it’s a breaking news story, an industry trend, or even a random conversation—if it sparks a thought, he shares it.
Ramon trusts that his perspective is valuable. And that’s a lesson for every creator: You don’t need permission to share your insights. There’s space for your voice to be heard.
His approach is simple:
- React in Real-Time – See something interesting? Add your take. Post a quick video, write a short LinkedIn post, or record an audio note for later.
- Trust Your Unique Angle – Everyone has access to the same news and trends, but your experiences, opinions, and personality make your content stand out. AI can help refine and distribute your message, but your perspective is what makes it valuable.
- Capture Ideas as They Come – Use tools like Notion, Google Docs, or even voice memos to save ideas before they slip away.
Pro Tip: Set up Google Alerts or follow trending topics in your niche. The best content ideas often come from what’s already being talked about—just add your unique spin.
AI Can’t Replace Real Engagement
While AI is a powerful tool for streamlining content creation, Ramon is clear about where it doesn’t belong—and that’s in genuine human interactions.
One thing that drives him crazy? Seeing AI-generated LinkedIn comments that sound robotic and impersonal. If you’ve ever received a response like “Great insight! Thanks for sharing!” that feels a little too generic, chances are, it wasn’t written by an actual person.
Ramon emphasized that relationship-building requires real connection—and AI just can’t replicate that. If you’re using AI to generate responses, it’s essential to add a personal touch. A comment should feel like it came from you, not a machine trying to check a networking box.
Where AI works: Repurposing content, summarizing transcripts, and brainstorming ideas.
Where AI fails: Trying to automate human-to-human conversations.
Building a Brand That Sticks in a Crowded Market
A big part of Ramon’s success is his unapologetic personal brand. He shows up consistently, shares valuable insights, and doesn’t try to be anyone else.
His personal branding strategy includes:
- Authenticity Over Algorithms – AI can suggest trends, but being yourself is what builds trust.
- Smart Automation, Not Auto-Pilot – He lets AI handle tedious tasks but ensures his real voice shines through in final edits.
- Consistency is Key – Ramon posts daily but repurposes the same core ideas across multiple platforms.
Pro Tip: Use AI to stay on track with posting schedules, but your unique energy is what keeps people coming back.
Wrap-Up: How to Create Content Faster and Smarter
If there’s one thing to learn from Ramon, it’s this: AI is a tool, not a crutch. The best creators use it to enhance their creativity and showcase their authority, not replace it.
Here’s your action plan:
✔ Leverage AI for efficiency—summarizing content, automating tasks, and repurposing material.
✔ Use real-life moments as prompts for fresh, authentic content.
✔ Trust your voice—because there’s always room for your perspective in the conversation.

[00:03:50] Got our friends already popping in. Rich Watts is excited about this show today. He says, Good morning, gentlemen. It’s often said, but not remembered, that time is money. I’m very interested in this conversation. So let’s jump right into it, Ramon, because, you have done a lot and I want to jump right into it is like, how do you create content so quickly?
[00:04:11] And it kind of like as a creator, because I know creators are, are chiming into this, what are some of your tips for doing that?
[00:04:17] Ramon Ray: think, Jeff and Connor, I think there’s two different types of content that we can do, and I love your input, Jeff, on this too. You’re a creator and Connor as well, but for me, I think there’s the perfect, there’s the good, there’s the thought before content that many creators do, and I do some of that content, Jeff, and I think there’s, there’s something for that.
[00:04:33] The stuff that the proverbial Mr. Beast does, right? That’s not done extemporaneously. There’s a lot of thought, a lot of planning put in on that. The content that Ramon Ray does, a term I think I coined, if I didn’t then I’ll just pretend I did, called Fake Podcasting. And Jeff on that one is just doing content in the moment.
[00:04:50] Now, if you have a formal business, you’re a contracting company, accounting firm, Jeff and Connor, you probably need a content calendar. I don’t take away from that things, Jeff, that you and I know we’ve learned. But for me, I think you can be a creator being just in the moment. So you’re right, Jeff. Today, I probably was live three times, posted four times, whatever, done a lot of content.
[00:05:09] I’ve only been up, what, four hours? I wake up at 5 a. m. All that was serendipitously. All that was just coming downstairs with a cup of coffee. Oh, let me do a Cathay Bustelo song or whatever it may be. So that’s, I’ll pause there, but that’s kind of what I do and why I think the biggest reason we can get technical, Jeff and Connor, but really it’s not the technical, which we can touch on, but it’s more so just I’m not afraid to take risk.
[00:05:32] I do it in the moment. And the last thing I’ll add, and you can pull on whatever thread you want, cause it is your show. So, is, is that I would say that, um, now how do we make money from it? And that is something we can touch on, but I think the money will come. You build the audience, build the community.
[00:05:45] You have the amazing Ecamm, does great visuals for creators. So hope that made sense, Jeff.
[00:05:50] Conor Brown: Yeah, absolutely. And I want, I want to, the thread I want to pull is the quality thread because you mentioned it a little bit, you know, there’s, there’s the two kind of forms, right? There’s going live. There’s, there’s doing it. There’s the, I won’t say more thought out, but the. Bigger, investment in creating something like a Mr.
[00:06:05] Beast or, or something like that. Ramon, you, you have a daily show, you go live daily, you, you’re doing all this. So how do you remain consistent with that daily content creation, but also not sacrificing your quality? Because it’s one thing to be consistent daily, it’s another to actually have something quality that you’re doing on a daily basis.
[00:06:25] Hmm.
[00:06:26] Ramon Ray: I’ll break that down. Thank you for pushing me to explain. Cause sometimes Conor, right? We do things and we don’t know what we’re doing. You know, Jeff and I have known each other for years and people ask Ramon, slow down, you’ve written five books. How did you like, you know what? Yeah, thank God I have written five books.
[00:06:39] So on the, on the daily show, so I have a daily show. It’s on USA Today Networks called The Rundown with Ramon. There is indeed the serendipitous content that I talked about,Connor of, you know, the lives and shorts and reels and stuff that many of us do. You just do it in the spur of the moment, right?
[00:06:52] Going to the store today. Hey, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. So here’s how I do the daily show. how it is today. It didn’t start out that way, but one, I have an executive assistant and her job is to curate content of the day. So she’s kind of like my producer. I have the content that I’m going to say, Connor can’t tell anybody this.
[00:07:08] I have that out. Okay. For days, because the content I do is evergreenish. Things like, Hey, you know, uh, can doing pushups every day make you better? is it true that if you drink coffee, you’ll go crazy? Whatever it may be. So those are evergreen things, right? That I can say today that will last five years from now.
[00:07:24] So that’s one. I have an executive assistant, producer of the show, as it were. She helps curate the content. I used to do that myself. And I can, but I need to scale myself. That’s one. Number two, then her job is to use slides, whether it’s beautiful or Google Slides, whatever it is. She then puts that into slides that have a little link in it, you know, PowerPoint, take your pick.
[00:07:42] So that I have a package of slides, kind of cues me what to do. I don’t need script, but just the picture of peanuts and be careful, you know, warn your kids of peanut allergies. Whatever, like that. So she’ll put the slide together, and then in there’s a link, a clickable link. That’s where Connor, then I click that link on each slide, brings up my tabs, and then I use my platform, hit go live, and there’s my show.
[00:08:06] So feel free to ask more, but I hope what you’re seeing is I’m doing what I do well, right? What you and Jeff do well, the, the edutainment, we’re the, we’re the talent, it’s our shows, but then the, the pre production end, thinking about what to do,
[00:08:18] Conor Brown: hope
[00:08:19] Ramon Ray: how to do it. Somebody else can do that because I’ve trained them.
[00:08:22] Is that. A little
[00:08:23] Jeff Sieh: Yeah, yeah. So I want to I want to keep pulling the threads as we go down that kind of the Christmas sweater thread. the The question I have, so it’s almost like cue cards. Like in, if you’re going to do on a stage and somebody holds up the cue cards, that’s what you have your executive assistant doing.
[00:08:40] So, and you mentioned before, you don’t really have a content calendar, but you kind of do, even though it’s, it’s an outline kind of more of an outline form where they, you go and then you can just kind of riff off of that, which I think it’s great. so you are doing some pre planning, but that allows you to, To be kind of spontaneous to a point, like even good improv troops, they have structure that guides their improv is what I’m kind of thinking.
[00:09:04] Am I, am I correct in the assumption of what you’re, we’re talking about?
[00:09:06] Ramon Ray: I’m so glad you pointed that out because people would have missed it. And this is how it happens. You know, I can say things like, no, just put the onions and dice it. And there goes your voila remote stop. You forgot to tell us that you put the oven on. So Jeff, thank you for those listening. Yes. It sounds like it’s just, Ooh, poof and done.
[00:09:22] So thank you for allowing us to slow down, Jeff. Yes. There is a editorial calendar. It’s not maybe as formal, but that’s a good point. There is one. I, I have, I know next week, the five things I’m going to talk about. So that, that is there. I love that. The structure is there. There is some thought to it. So Jeff, you’re exactly right.
[00:09:38] It’s not just, you know, put up there. So as we’re helping content creators, right, do it. I think there’s a halfway point. It could be the really formal structured content, full editorial counter scripts. It could be done serendipitously, as I call it. I’m sure there’s another word, or off the cuff, but this is kind of a hybrid.
[00:09:53] Jeff, you and I, and I’m sure you, Connor, you give me three words, I’ll talk for an hour about it. That’s all I need. So she’s just prompting me and that was a great point. You said the cue card. She’s cue carding me using the slides and then I do what I do best by God’s grace is be the talent of the show.
[00:10:09] Jeff Sieh: Okay. On that, those points. So does she come up with all those ideas? Herself or do you like say here are my five books take ideas from that? Or do you go in there and because i’m trying to figure out your process For generating these fresh content ideas regularly because I think that’s
[00:10:24] Conor Brown: Ask Ralph asked something like that as well right now. He’s saying, he does a daily show as well. So Ramon, are you saying that you use your assistant to prepare the actual structure of the show or do you discuss how you want the plan and then kind of she goes off and runs with it and then to Jeff’s point too.
[00:10:41] Ramon Ray: By the way, ask Ralph, please hit me up the the tagline of who of who you are. I need you. Like I
[00:10:47] can’t spell finance.
[00:10:49] Jeff Sieh: I had a good I had a good conversation with ralph yesterday. So yeah, you need to talk to ralph. Yeah
[00:10:54] Ramon Ray: so great question. the, well, let me ask you, Jeff and Connor, should I just spill my beans and tell y’all exactly all my business? Tell you what I do? Should I just tell you all that?
[00:11:01] Jeff Sieh: We love it. We love it because you’re going to do it anyway
[00:11:05] Ramon Ray: Here’s what I do. there’s, there’s a few, newsletters, email newsletters, especially that I just signed up for. Inc., Entrepreneur, and 50 others. You know, some we know, some we don’t. It could be Jeff or Jason, Jason Pfeiffer, Executive Editor of Entrepreneur Media. He has an email newsletter. Seth Godin, right?
[00:11:20] All these topics. I sign up to all of them. That’s the content base for my daily show, and my value is just how I present it. And in a way, isn’t that what Fox Business or CNN or MSNBC have? They don’t make original content, right? It’s, hey, plane crashed today, boy lost dog, what’s the Congress gonna do? So that’s what I’m doing on that show.
[00:11:40] So yes, to her point, Jeff, since she knows now the sources, and she’s kind of, didn’t take a lot of training, but she’s just smart like that. She knows it has to be evergreen ish. Listicle is a good thing for Ramon because then you know what, he can think less if it’s listicle meaning live, right?
[00:11:56] Allbusiness. com. Dave Ramsey, good point. Dave Ramsey said, seven ways you can retire better. Connor and Jeff, that’s the perfect kind of content. My job is what I say, but as you all know, right, we’re doing the show here. It’s how I’m saying it. So ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, Dave Ramsey, quoting, said seven ways that you can retire early.
[00:12:15] Doot, doot, doot, doot, doot. And you package 10 of that together. And that’s my rundown with Ramon.
[00:12:21] Jeff Sieh: Gotcha
[00:12:22] Ramon Ray: Y’all made me tell all my business. Now people know my secret. Now people watching can be like, Oh,
[00:12:26] Jeff Sieh: I could just get the newsletter. Why do I need to watch her mom? That’s right
[00:12:29] Conor Brown: Well, we’re gonna, we’re gonna get all of your secrets because we have more and we’re not done yet. So Ramon, you know, you talked about how it’s, it’s daily, how it’s live, it’s, it’s in the moment. But there’s still work before that, right? You shared all your secrets just then, you’ve systematized it, you got it down into a system and that’s great, but you still want to get all the value out of it.
[00:12:50] You don’t just want to take it. And that’s that, right? We talked a little bit before the show about how your, your show currently works, but I want to know, how are you taking this content that you’re creating and then repurposing it so that you can actually boost its reach and its impact so that you’re taking all that work and you’re getting the best value out of it?
[00:13:11] Ramon Ray: Conor and Jeff, there’s nothing secret on the social media news live show, nothing sacred, nothing like, here’s my secret. I’m not going to share it. You guys are just everything. No,
[00:13:22] Jeff Sieh: we’re going to enter this into like Chattopadhyay and just make a Ramon that we can just use.
[00:13:26] Ramon Ray: but I love the question. Thank you all so much. I’m happy to share it. I’ve never. Share it like this publicly before I’m glad to, to, to pull it out of me. So here’s what I do. So when the show’s over, you know, using one of the streaming platform that you shows over, download the files and most of the people listen to understand that, you know, video file, audio file.
[00:13:41] Some services have text built in some don’t download that. Then I go to Canva and make a thumbnail for it. Cause I think the visual is important. And again, I was, I’m evolving on this. Jeff has done this. Connor does this. We all learn from each other. So then I make a thumbnail, open up YouTube. from the live and I add a thumbnail to it and add a description from it and that I do.
[00:14:02] Claude does that for me based on the script. Claude does that. And my side note, Connor and Jeff, my script on that is The Rundown with Ramon by small business expert Ramon Ray is a show that has 10 top headlines, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Make me three different Outputs. One, something for Spotify.
[00:14:18] Two, something for a YouTube description. Three, a longer form blog post with headers, narrative style. But before you do that, write a list of the top key points. Hit that button. So now those three things are done and copy and paste. Spotify, podcast side, YouTube, That side. and then what I was doing, Connor and Jeff as well, because I create a show is I was thinking, should I natively upload stuff to YouTube?
[00:14:42] Some people were saying, Jeff, you could have been in this discussion. Not sure. Some of our friends, right? We’re saying it doesn’t matter today as long, you know, edit the thumbnail description, but you don’t have to re upload natively. That’s a political discussion. I don’t know. But is that helpful, Connor?
[00:14:53] That’s how I do it. I do the show. That’s the live part. Download the files. take the transcript, text, etc. That becomes the, the better copy for zoneofgenius. com, for YouTube, for the podcast, all those things. send that up there. And then for the USA Today side, I package that. There, there’s a, see Connor, I just got to share everything.
[00:15:12] There’s Excel spreadsheet with the meta, meta information in it. And that’s packaged up to USA Today, which was good for me to learn, right? Those who want to work with Netflix and bigger channels, I assume that’s how many of them get the meta they need. You upload 10 shows, lost, SVU, I’m sure it’s a bigger level, but they now have to have the video file.
[00:15:31] What does this file mean? There has to be a meta file associated with it. Connor, is that good enough that I spill every bean that I have? I just feel so uncovered.
[00:15:41] Conor Brown: That’s good for now. That’s good for now, I think. You did mention some good tools though. I mean, I think it’s, it’s about having that system in place, right? So, you know, you talk about you immediately take it, Canva, you go to Claude, you have the, the prompts in there that you probably already need, but are there other tools, Ramon, that you find going to daily that just help streamline this content creation that, that you can’t live without these days?
[00:16:07] Ramon Ray: The slides are made on Google Slides, but again, as you know, you know Jeff and, and, and Connor, the tools slightly irrelevant, but for the new people I use Google Slides ’cause it’s just easy to share it, you know, with people. so my ea she does Google Slides, emails it to me. We could have Asana and task management, but I’m just so email driven.
[00:16:23] So she emails and I have in my, I have in Google in my Gmail, full sub folder called slides. So I can click on that right now. I’m looking at it. It’s in red. It says show slides and there’s about 20 show slides pre made, Conor, right? So next week I’m going to click on this. It says how to master growth on a shoestring budget.
[00:16:44] I can click on this right now. 10 slides open up in front of me. I click on each and I can do my show within probably my prep time for the show, Conor. This you have to keep between us, Conor and Jeff. You cannot tell anybody this. I woke up today at about 6. 50, maybe 6. 55. I was late. I had to wake up, you know, hanging out, watching stuff with my wife and stuff.
[00:17:03] And, and I was live at about 7. 08.
[00:17:05] Jeff Sieh: Wow. So you can, you can go quickly. Yeah. So, I mean, Well, so we have that kind of thing for this show. And like Connor to a lot of people don’t know, like right now we have a Google doc that we’re going back and forth to. I’m like, Hey, Connor, take this question. Hey, he already answered that. and so, cause I want to make it as balanced as possible.
[00:17:22] Conor Brown: So we have this, like, it’s a dance that Connor and I do. He’s a great slow dancer. Beautiful.
[00:17:28] Jeff Sieh: so, and so. but that’s how we work it. And then on like for Guy Kawasaki’s stuff, we have for every episode that comes out, we have the title meta description, kind of like you said, it’s a Google sheet, so we’re weeks ahead and we know what we need to put out and, and get it all out.
[00:17:42] And so that. It seems like a hassle from coming as a solopreneur doing this kind of stuff, but it saves your bacon and saves you time in the long run. So if you haven’t done that, it’s really important to kind of do, even if you are a small solopreneur later on, when you grow your team, like Ramon was talking about having his virtual assistant, it makes a lot of sense.
[00:18:01] So great
[00:18:02] Ramon Ray: that’s, Jeff, I just want to add that that’s the only way to scale. I mean, for those who are scaling and doing stuff different, I just want to add, you know, Jeff and me and Connor, we do this, we’ve been doing this for years, years, years. But as you grow, and I know Jeff, you and I have talked about scaling, you got to add people to your team.
[00:18:13] So it’s only. You know, we three know what we’re doing, but when you bring on other people, if they’re newer, which is okay, because you know, you can save a little money. They’re like, Ooh, Jeff, I want to learn from you. No problem. You build systems and then they get as good or better than you at certain things.
[00:18:28] Jeff Sieh: Yeah, very true. So we got some great comments. We’ve got, Jim Fuse in the house. Thanks, Jim, for stopping by. And, uh, but mostly Disney says, well, this makes me happy as all of my content is guided by serendipity and I feel like it’s a problem. but he was also laughing because he was literally editing videos right now and he just said, I need to have an assistant.
[00:18:46] So the best thing I ever did was hire my daughter to do stuff and, and then have VAs and contractors for that. It’s, you always go, why did I wait so long? Everybody who’s done it. Always says it, why did I wait?
[00:18:58] Ramon Ray: And Jeff, I want to tell your audience, I want to tell the most of Disney guy, I’m available for hire. If you provide me, I’d say about a, a 2. 2 million home on Disney property, private chef car air tickets back and forth between Disney and New York area.
[00:19:13] And I’d say what half a mil Jeff for free. I’ll work there something like
[00:19:17] Jeff Sieh: something like that. Yeah. He would do it in a heartbeat. our friend Kira says, this is a great conversation. Love anything that helps with creating quality with efficiency. And then Ralph has a follow up question. He goes, so what are you, what you’re saying is that you just riff on a topic and then make that your daily content.
[00:19:35] Do you do your own production?
[00:19:38] Ramon Ray: Got it. So go ahead Jeff. huh
[00:19:40] Jeff Sieh: So I’m, he’s asking, I think, if you do, what do you pass off for other people to do? Mm
[00:19:46] Ramon Ray: Yeah, so I’m Jeff. I I don’t go deep I’m not trying to change lives quote unquote and provide deep inspiration and all that stuff That’s not my calling not my game as it were, you know Just sharing as we started off different types of content technically and I’d like to know what you think Jeff and Connor I think we can all show up how we choose to show Some people make you cry.
[00:20:04] Some people are deep. Some people are strong CTA. For me, what Ramon does best is high level edutainment. That’s what I do. Ralph, who asked a question. So just to recap that, and I’m sure Jeff and Connor can help bring it up more, help understand what I’m trying to say is that for me, 10 headlines. That’s all I need.
[00:20:21] Harvard Business Review said how women can break the glass ceiling. A National Federation of Independent Independent Business said lower taxes. Do they help or hurt? That’s all I need. 10 of those headlines Ramon Reyes off to the races with a 30 minute fast show. So I talk on, you know, like this headline right here below us, efficient content creation.
[00:20:40] That’s all I need. Hey, today we’re going to talk about efficient content creation. Here’s three things you need to know. One, be efficient. If you’re wasting time, you’re wasting time to what is the content and then create it. I just restated the headline, but it’s my show. Is that helpful, Jeff, what I’m
[00:20:54] trying to say, to answer Ralph?
[00:20:56] Jeff Sieh: I think so. And Ralph’s great. I mean he’s and he has great content because he’s asking questions In his email subject lines of like, you know, how, like you mentioned before, how do you plan retirement when you’re over 50? Like that’s something like I will open up because i’m like i’m over 50 and I need to plan, you know And so I think having those topics and then being able to riff on it.
[00:21:15] I think Ralph could do that as well. Really quick. Lisa says this discussion is right on time because i’m planning a daily show to begin in January Thank you for the gems you’re sharing Thank you, Lisa, for chiming in over on YouTube and, but mostly just Disney was talking about your job offer. He goes, Oh, well, if that’s all it takes, he, you know, that’s all he
[00:21:33] Ramon Ray: Oh, and Jeff and Connor have to have a side two mansions with them too,
[00:21:37] Jeff Sieh: I just want to, I just, I can stay in the, the, the guest quarters or your servant quarters, wherever it is. Yeah, I can do that. Brad Miller says, Ramon, the process you described sounds doable after you got up to speed about how long does it take you to do that process from A to Z?
[00:21:53] Ramon Ray: Yeah, it’s about 30 minutes post production, give or take, but probably closer to 15 20. You know, we can, as creators, we can spitball right now. What does it take to download the files, upload one to the, the, the transcript, to the voice, to transcript, or whatever you’re doing, all that stuff, Canva, you know, it’s already done, right?
[00:22:08] I have I just edit the, the, the template in Canvas. So less than 30 minutes for post production. And then my production team, my executive assistant, she’s doing the slides for me. And as I said, think of that time, a person who just asked a question, I’ve got your name there, but is. 650, I woke up late today and I was live at 708.
[00:22:27] So the longer time probably took to hit the lights in this little studio here. So it doesn’t take long once the, once the slide is done and I’ve click, click, click, click, click, open up the tabs because I read live the, you know, I could put it in Google Docs, but I just read live from the live website pages.
[00:22:44] That’s the show. So, like, like, right now, Jeff and Conner, to give you an idea, if I’m looking here, I can see, you know, you can see the headline in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Harvard Business Review, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, and then I’m just clicking through, tab, tab, tab, tab, tab, slide, slide, slide, slide, slide, putting on some music, and that’s it.
[00:23:00] So, it doesn’t take that long.
[00:23:01] Conor Brown: I do want to say though that I think it doesn’t take long for you right now, but the years of whatever you’ve done before, right? And your God given talent, as you said, and doing this and showing up consistently, that’s how you’re able to get to this point. So if you’re going out, you’re starting your show right now, Elise is about to start a daily show.
[00:23:21] It might not take you. 30 minutes in post production the first time you do it, right? But if you keep doing it, then you can eventually wake up like, like Ramon and flip the lights and you’re ready to roll.
[00:23:33] Ramon Ray: And Connor, I’ll say, go ahead, Jeff.
[00:23:35] Jeff Sieh: No, you go ahead. I want you to say it first.
[00:23:37] Ramon Ray: Connor, you know, I’m just so glad you’re bringing this up because it’s so important for the new person out there. Oh, it took me 40 minutes. So you’re right, Connor. I’ll just add, as Jeff knows, you know, what the four to five years I’ve been on Clubhouse, especially during a pandemic, every day, part of a whole community called Breakfast with Champions.
[00:23:53] So every day there’s practice. I’m on episode, Connor. Almost 200, because I got the ask last December 2023, I started January 2024 doing a live show. So that’s the other muscle building. And then the 20 plus years, you know, in case of Jeff, what’s about 60 years, 20 plus years, I’ve been doing this, you know, the content world from Prodigy, CompuServe, AOL, Blogspot.
[00:24:19] com, all that stuff. So Connor, you’re exactly right. Yes.
[00:24:24] Jeff Sieh: And one of the things I would say, I mean, He’s doing a daily show, Ralph does a daily show. You put a lot more reps when you do a daily show. And so there is like, I do a weekly show, so I’m not as polished as Ramone. I can’t get up at, you know, at six and they go on at 6. 15, uh, you know. And so, don’t, so don’t try to compare yourself to Ramon.
[00:24:45] Like, cause I mean, I, when I first started, I took hours like to, and I would practice, I would learn what buttons to press. I would go live into a private Facebook group that nobody was in just so I could see what I looked like. And, and so there, I just want to make sure like Ramon is like the professional at this and he knows how to do it.
[00:25:02] He’s put in the reps. So don’t expect yourself to, hey I’m starting a live show for the first time, I only need to prepare 30 minutes because that’s what Ramon said. No, you need to prepare a lot longer than that because, it, it, he makes it look easy and it’s sometimes not as easy as, I mean it takes practice is what I’m saying.
[00:25:19] So,
[00:25:19] Ramon Ray: And Jeff, I’ve been on live TV many times, again, not enough times, but I recall being with J. J. Ramberg, MSNBC, the show she used to have on Sunday mornings, Your Business. Jeff, this is live TV, brother. I hear the countdown on my earpiece. She’s on her phone laughing and chatting with me, talking about family.
[00:25:35] I’m hearing 10 9. I’m like to myself, Did she not hear the countdown? This is TV. They were in a freaking New York City studio. She’s laughing. I’m hearing two, one, and she’s still Ramones. What was your wife’s name again? Live. Hey, everybody. Welcome to MSNBC. My name, I’m like, okay. I mean, same thing with, one of the Fox hosts, the guy who does, uh, money.
[00:25:55] I forgot it. He, we’re chatting, laughing. I’m seeing the countdown clock. This is Fox Business Live TV. One minute to go. Oh my God. Hey, anybody have an extra donut? Can I have more cream in my coffee? 30 seconds, you know, chatting. So to your point, the reps, once you do it, not that you don’t take it, but that’s just how humans are.
[00:26:14] You do anything enough times, you get really freaking good at it.
[00:26:17] Jeff Sieh: Yeah, so anyway, so just, I just want to, people are starting out. I love that you’re doing content. I think everybody, I think you’re created by the creator to be creative, and I think people can do this. Just know that you’re not going to be Ramone out of the gate, is what I want to say. we got some more people chiming in from our, uh, friends.
[00:26:33] Billy Thorpe, who’s been on a couple, he was on a couple weeks ago, says, it’s the A Team. Oh, that’s an old show. and he goes, yo, it’s Ramone. I know that voice from Clubhouse because you were mentioned in Clubhouse before. he does radio shows like that too, so on point. so, before, I want to go into this next section, and I want to talk all about AI, because you mentioned using Clod before.
[00:26:51] So, What are your thoughts on using AI for content creation? Some people think it’s a cheat. Some people, some marketers think it’s, you know, it’s not them, so I’m not even going to mess with it. How can AI benefit marketers, in your opinion?
[00:27:06] Ramon Ray: Yeah. It is a cheat, Jeff. AI is a cheat. AI is not you. But for what I’m doing, God bless America. I don’t care. And it’s good enough for me. Just to be clear on that. It’s good enough for me. Am I right? That’s just for me. I love your opinion, Jeff and Conor So I’ll stop there because I want to hear what y’all think, but that’s, my decision.
[00:27:28] So for zoneofgenius. com. A blog about small business growth for the new person, Jeff, who’s just starting her cupcake business. She doesn’t know LLC or S Corp and she Googles and score comes up and others, but Ramon Ray comes up and says, here’s LLC and S Corp. Does it matter if AI did it? Forgetting now if it has to be right and I have to check it that’s my job, but the speed to process or how to use AI better. Conor’s not going to say nothing new. He might as well have AI write a 4,000 word blog post on how to use AI better and maybe sprinkle in some of his things. Hey, when I first started AI, I didn’t know prompting, but prompting was the thing that was better for me. Here’s 20 ways to have better prompts.
[00:28:10] And AI gave those 20 prompts. But I like to know what y’all think. That’s just what I think.
[00:28:15] Jeff Sieh: So we’ve got some great comments that I want to pull up, and I’ll tell you what I think. I mean, I use AI all the time. And, Tech Troublemaker says, why wouldn’t you want to cheat code? AI is the bomb, we just have to keep a human in the mix. so, my thought is, I use AI on everything, like even show prep.
[00:28:31] if you looked at our thumbnail, I love doing thumbnails now where I can do the face swap with, and, you know, most people don’t matter. I usually ask, but I knew Ramona was going to be fine with it. Um, fine with it, Jeff. Conor, should I say what I think? Should
[00:28:43] yeah, go stay
[00:28:44] Conor Brown: If it’s, if you’re making fun of him, absolutely.
[00:28:47] Ramon Ray: Conor, you know, Jeff, I don’t mind you doing it, Jeff. And you can do it again anytime and you, you made the right call, but I did a double take Jeff. I’m like, you know what? I don’t know, but it was a good attempt.
[00:28:58] Jeff Sieh: it was good. I mean, people, I mean, the glasses weren’t exactly right. I’ll give you that. But anyway, I do think it’s, it is a thing. It’s a, it’s a tool, but to, Tech Troublemaker’s point, like, I have already told my audience that the emails that I send on Tuesday will never be AI. It’s always me.
[00:29:16] It’s my story. Because I want that piece to be So, it’s, it’s, and it’s, AI most of the time couldn’t even come up with it, it’s so wacky and weird, but, that’s what I have told my audience, and that’s the only piece. Now, I’ll use it to help me with social posts, it’ll help me with blog posts, Descript will actually take this and actually, you know, chop up places for me.
[00:29:33] So, I have no problem with that. but I think we need to have some spot where like Tech Troublemaker was saying is that you are human. Connor, what are your thoughts?
[00:29:41] Conor Brown: I agree with that. I mean, it’s, it’s the human touch and it’s adding your perspective to it. So if it’s helping with the structure, that’s one thing, but you have your own unique experiences that you can share with it. I like what Ask Ralph just said, you know, it is a tool, it’s a path or a direction for me, but just like a carpenter has a hammer, it’s a tool, right?
[00:30:00] So the cavemen probably were thinking, well, that’s not fair. You can’t just use a hammer, you know, that’s cheating. No, of course they didn’t say that. They said, please, for the love of God, give me that hammer. And I think we’re kind of at that point now as, as well. You can choose whichever path you want, but I do think, you know, I don’t know how many people were saying, oh, when Google was coming to fruition or Yahoo back in the day, oh, that’s, that’s cheating.
[00:30:26] You’re just, you’re just looking something up. Put in the work. No, what am I going to go to the library and look it up? No, I’m, I’m going to do it right here, right now. Save my time.
[00:30:35] Jeff Sieh: I
[00:30:35] Ramon Ray: Can I, can I tell you, go ahead Jeff. That’s
[00:30:37] Jeff Sieh: well, I was going to say that, you know, with Connor probably, I don’t know even if he was potty trained by then, but when Canva came out, remember how everybody got all upset about, you know, Canva because it’s not, it’s taking things away. And now every business has a Canva account. You know, and so, to Brittany’s point, she goes, AI is like Wi Fi 10, 10 X.
[00:30:56] We will all use AI in our business, if not today, definitely in the future. So I
[00:31:01] Ramon Ray: by the way, Jeff and Conor, Brittany Cole is an amazing, amazing powerhouse soul, so you should have her on the show. What’s up, Brittany Cole? Thank you for being here. You’re an amazing human. can I tell you, Jeff and Conor, the place I detest AI, the place I absolutely detest it, the place I detest AI.
[00:31:19] AI is when you respond to LinkedIn comments using AI because all four of the different people’s comments sound the same. You regurgitated 92 percent of what I wrote and said. Those insights look good, Ramon. Thanks for talking about AI in a digital world. All of you said the same thing. I can tell it’s not you.
[00:31:41] It’s so inauthentic. Authentic. It should be outlawed by Biden and Trump. It should be outlawed. Really? What do y’all think? I mean,
[00:31:48] Jeff Sieh: tell me how you really feel about it. So everybody on Ramon’s post, go back and just, you know, make a comment.
[00:31:54] Ramon Ray: Jeff. It really no bothers me. At first. I thought people, some friends of ours were really commenting on it, but then I’m reading it, they’re saying the same thing. But what, Jeff, I’d like to know your opinion, Connor. I, I, the LinkedIn box that are responding and I think there’s a thing, I don’t, I’m sure there’s services now.
[00:32:08] I think it’s bad that forced auto engagement. It sucks.
[00:32:12] Conor Brown: yeah, it definitely turns me off more than I get excited to, to see something like that all. And I’ll immediately register that with that person who’s ever commenting that. It reminds me when you used to have a birthday party and your mom inevitably would force you to write thank you notes. And you’re like, man, if these people ever get together and say, what was that thank you note you got?
[00:32:33] It would be exactly the same and you’d be in some serious trouble. for
[00:32:41] Jeff Sieh: was a big influencer a while back where somebody had on, it was Instagram, had like their cat died. And the guy said, Hey, I love your content. Thank you for sharing. And it was, and he got, and he was a big deal and he got raked over the colds.
[00:32:54] And if I mentioned that there’s people in the audience who know who I’m talking about, because it was that bad. So I never do any response. I’ll use tools to help me be notified that Ramon made a comment and then I can go in and do that. I use Agora Pulse and that has social listening where I can go do that.
[00:33:10] But I agree. I think that is cheesy and wrong and not good.
[00:33:14] Ramon Ray: Or automated stuff, Jeff, right? Like many chat automated stuff. DM me this word for this. Got it. But yeah, don’t Yeah, but you’re trying to you’re trying to get Jeff’s attention. So you have your little bot everything he posts you’re responding That’s just that’s wrong
[00:33:28] Jeff Sieh: So, Ralph has got some great questions. He, and this is, I think we’re going back to you, you know, you can go in, in three minutes and go live from a dead sleep. wake up and just go. he goes, did you go through a process of self actualization, I can’t speak today, where you had to find a place where you just had the self confidence to just make it flow?
[00:33:47] Did you have that imposter syndrome? Do you ever struggle with imposter syndrome,
[00:33:51] Ramon Ray: You know, Jeff, what I love about the show that you and Conor are doing is you all, and I really mean this, you all are great interviewers and you bring out to me and help, help the audience understand. I really want to give you a hats off. I, I love this conversation because I say some things sometimes that need to be furthering back.
[00:34:03] So I just want to teach a moment for the audience. When you do interviews like this, you got to know your audience. So that’s a, that was a compliment, Jeff, if it didn’t come
[00:34:10] to you. like that.so Ralph and Conor to answer the question. We are all made different. There is such a thing as imposter syndrome, and there is such a thing as growing and learning your skills and talent, as Connor said.
[00:34:23] So Ralph, to answer your question, for me, Ralph, for Ramon, I’m sure there was a part where I’ve had to get better and better over the last 30 something years, but my God given skill, Ralph, The LeBron of edutainment is what I do very well. I’m only saying it, Ralph, to help you. I’m not good in math. My friend, Brittany Cole, she’s a great strategic thinker.
[00:34:45] People are great in sales, are great in finance, great in leadership. People excel in many areas. I don’t. The one thing I do is building relationships or the aspect of edutainment. So Ralph, I want to say thank you for asking it. And those are real things. So as you’re first starting it, is it good enough?
[00:35:02] But how I’m built, how I’m born Ralph, I have a high talent for risk. I don’t take myself too seriously. Making mistakes and screwing up doesn’t bother me at all. All! I’ll have ketchup on a white shirt and still go and talk to the Queen of England. Well, she’s dead, so that’d be hard, but you get my point.
[00:35:21] so, I think I’ll stop there, because now I’m going off the rails, but Jeff and Connor rescued me. Did that make sense?
[00:35:26] Jeff Sieh: Yes, you. So on certain things, you do not feel.
[00:35:30] Conor Brown: also find
[00:35:33] Jeff Sieh: what you’re saying. So going live, you don’t feel because you’ve done so many reps. You don’t have that as much as probably the next person. Now, if you would say you’re going to go and you’re going to be in charge of interviewing, you know, the president of the United States, which you have done good interview to you were on the show with Obama, you were probably a little nervous about that though.
[00:35:51] Like you
[00:35:52] Ramon Ray: I was a little nervous. Yeah, but what I’m trying to say, Jeff, is that for the content, because this is a content show, I guess what I’m trying to bring out is that if you ask me, Ramon, go manage a daycare. Ramon, we need help. With the Olympics, high security takes much detail. Ramon, we’re going to embed you with the engineering team of NASA.
[00:36:09] That I would freak out. Not my skill set, not my zone, but I’m trying to understand this world of content and Jeff, yes, nervousness and all this, but it’s a talent. Jeff, I feel myself tearing up for some reason. This is what I do. So right now, if the president United States walked in, if Biden and Trump and Harris and everybody else walked into the room right now, and they said, Ramon, Go live with them.
[00:36:31] It would be a freaking awesome show. Cause that’s what I do. So it’s a, it’s a gift. That’s what I’m trying to let the audience know. So that’s my superpower. Other things I wouldn’t. Is that what I’m, that’s what I’m trying to say.
[00:36:42] Jeff Sieh: So I’m going to dig into that really quick. because have you always had that? Was it. like when you were working for the UN, was it like, I want to do this, but I’m stuck in this corporate job. And you’ve had it since you were a young boy. Is, was, is that something that’s always been inside of you?
[00:36:58] Okay.
[00:36:58] Ramon Ray: Yeah. When I did my first press conference, the United Nations, it was bombed. Why? Cause it wasn’t the United Nations way. My boss at the time was Jean Marc Coaco. I think he was coming late or something. He gave me a chance. Ramon, why don’t you start the press conference? I forgot I was at the UN, Jeff.
[00:37:13] I thought I was at the. Emmy Awards. So I’m like, ladies and gentlemen, what’s up? Welcome journalists. Welcome to the United Nations. How are you? Hey, Mindy, that’s a great bag. Listen, let’s talk about children starving in a foreign country somewhere and how we can, my boss is like, Ramon, stop, stop. Thanks. You know what? It’s an off track. Hi everyone. This is the United Nations. This is what he wanted. So. Little bit of hyperbole there, but you get the point I’m making is that yes, Jeff. I was called for this edutainment style. If it needs to be some TEDx English British accent talking about how larvae mosquitoes eat cow dung.
[00:37:46] I’m the wrong guy. Not me.
[00:37:48] Jeff Sieh: Well, I had some lined up that I was going to put you in touch with, but I guess not now.
[00:37:53] Ramon Ray: you, Jeff. I
[00:37:55] hope that’s how
[00:37:56] we do that, Jeff and Connor, just the aspect of talent, you know, that impossible, but all that’s, that’s true. But I think some of us, Jeff, you know, and I go to anything in life, basketball, farming, writing, poetry, driving cars, being in law enforcement, shooting weapons. I think some people in life have certain natural gifts that just make, they excel at.
[00:38:14] So for me, video, content, interviews. That’s something that I’m so comfortable with. And I’ve been that way for a long time, but that’s not fair because everybody won’t be that way. In fairness, I want to call that out as we’ve done already.
[00:38:27] Conor Brown: So, kind of going back to the AI that we talked about and leveraging it in making this content. Ramon, you’re talking about your talent, your God given abilities. That’s what people gravitate towards you for. That’s what makes your content so uniquely you. You, AI can help in creating the content, but we still want to make it as authentic as possible.
[00:38:48] So, so how do you balance that? How do you balance using AI to help you, but making sure it’s still uniquely you and, and your content?
[00:38:59] Ramon Ray: I think with written, well, you know, one, one thing is let’s look at, think of every dot two, you may know that of the rebooting. These are niche publications, niche things that many of us read, maybe Seth Godin stuff, long form content that maybe we read in some backwaters, long vlog about video, right?
[00:39:14] That few people read, but Jeff. Maybe you’re, you know, you get my point. So my point is AI is great for the generalist stuff. AI is great for the top level headlines. AI is great for the evergreen. AI is great, of course, for backend research, but to your point, Connor, that’s what AI is good for, it’s a tool, but nobody can beat Michelangelo.
[00:39:31] Nobody can beat the guy with a banana in duct tape who’s selling it for millions. God bless America and God bless him. That’s how I see myself though, Conor, with content. If he can sell a banana for way too much money with duct tape on a white background, that’s Ramon Ray can take evergreen headlines, right, of the regular day and add my special sauce into it.
[00:39:53] I think Connor and Jeff, that’s where humans come in. Social Media News Live, this show here. We’re talking about evergreen stuff. Everybody talks about it. There’s a special way that Jeff puts the show. Special way that guests come in. Special way that you partner with Jeff and do the show, if that makes sense.
[00:40:07] You know I’m saying, Connor? So there’s a certain, we have Ralph and others who are here. Love this show. Same thing maybe if the next group of guys are doing and that’s great with some of our friends do it But Jeff see has a certain way. He’s curated this show, which we all love when
[00:40:20] Jeff Sieh: I think that’s an important point because so many people go like, well, I don’t like we, we have some friends who are in the Disney space. They’re like, oh, Disney’s saturated. I can’t do that. But it’s not the same. It’s like Connor’s show where he blends the Universal and, you know, Disney and the Disney Cruise Line.
[00:40:36] That’s, that’s Connor and that’s all unique to him. So You know, we’ve talked about things that’s kind of all over the place, like imposter syndrome and creating content. I don’t want people to say like, Oh, somebody’s doing it. Or that, you know, go do your own thing, even if it’s the same subject, because nobody is you.
[00:40:55] So you’re unique, just like everybody else.
[00:40:57] Conor Brown: like those videos where the person’s like, I use the same four chords and I’ll play you the top 20 most popular songs in the last five, like they all use the same four chords, but they’re all totally different music. And each person gravitates to the music. towards one genre, one artist, one group of artists, even though they’re all using the same four chords, even though it’s in a different sort of way.
[00:41:21] So I think that’s kind of the style there. I wonder how much that, banana, attached to the wall. I would assume it’s gonna go bad eventually. How much do you think that banana bread’s gonna cost? Probably pretty expensive.
[00:41:33] Jeff Sieh: The guy already said he’s going to eat it. He’s going to eat the banana.
[00:41:35] Ramon Ray: Yeah, you heard that right? I saw that interview article something I read there. Yeah, and then there’s all kind Yeah, but to your point, that’s you know, we’re now we’re gonna get off from banana bread and bananas, but yes But I think it’s interesting. That’s a great example I forgot the name and even them out, but I think most of us know if you don’t just google it But that’s an example who would have thought a banana and duct tape, but you find the right market for you Find a need.
[00:41:53] Somebody out there wants what you have. You just have to match it. And maybe, don’t get angry at me, people. Maybe content being a Jeff, being a Ramon, being a Connor is not for you. I’m not saying don’t. This is a content show. But I’m saying, hey, show up different if it’s not working for you. Maybe you’re the best video editor.
[00:42:11] Hit up Jeff, hit up Connor, they may need you. Maybe you’re the next, the best sound effects person. They may need you. Maybe Connor’s like, Oh, I wish I could scale myself better. He may need you. So in the world of content, everybody doesn’t have to be in front of the camera. Talent like me, Jeff and Connor are, but everybody can have a role in doing something if you look hard enough.
[00:42:32] Conor Brown: You know, what’s interesting is I think that there are AI tools that are good for, there’s not like one AI tool that’s perfect for everyone, right? Because we’re so unique and we have our own voice and brand styles and things like that, I do find that people gravitate towards certain tools because it works best for them in whatever needs they have, but also what their brand is themselves.
[00:42:53] Ramon, for you, are there any specific AI tools that, that you love, that you found these work perfectly for me and how have you implemented them in your content creation? Yeah.
[00:43:32] Ramon Ray: use, you know, Canva works very well for certain things I’m doing. Some of the streaming tools we use and etc. those are getting embedded more and more.
[00:43:39] CapCut for Microsoft is, is pretty good. And the other clipping tools. So to answer your question, yes, I’m using many of the AI tools, but I think as they’re getting more and more integrated, I’m thinking, oh, great. I can use this for multiple things. And as many of the services evolve, Connor, they’re embedding tools into it.
[00:43:55] You know, taking it to another direction, like QuickBooks, they’re trying to get it, you to use everything in QuickBooks, that’s happening in the content world too, Oh, using tool A, let’s pack as much as we can in here and charge you more into this tool.
[00:44:08] Jeff Sieh: Right, exactly. So, this has been, we have so many great questions and I love the tools. I, I, I, I, I actually have all my tools. If you guys are interested in Jeff c.com toolbox. Yeah. Jeff c.com/toolbox. It’s got all my tools that I use for my business. There’s a couple new ones I’m playing with right now.
[00:44:26] You mentioned QuickBooks. I hate. Sorry, I hate QuickBooks. Sorry, Ralph, if that’s your jam. I know Ralph does finance. but I’ve been looking at this one that does bookkeeping, that my friend Jay, recommended is called kick. co. It’s like AI does all your bookkeeping for you, which I think is kind of interesting, so I’m checking that out.
[00:44:43] But yeah, there’s all sorts of cool tools. I always say don’t get a yearly subscription to anything because it changes so fast that you want to be able to Go to the better thing later, so pay just the monthly fee. couple things that I wanted to mention before we go on is that this show, once again, is sponsored by our friends over at Ecamm.
[00:45:00] You can find out more about them at ecamm. com forward slash Jeff. Save 15 percent using code JEFF15 on your first purchase. They are what allows us to do this show and make it look pretty. You talked about, Tools, Jim Fuse mentioned earlier, I’m talking about Descript. That’s what we use after the show.
[00:45:15] That’s a great AI tool as well. They keep, integrating some things, but I wanted to go to some of our questions because there’s some really great comments in here. Brittany says, when you’re talking about recognizing your gift, she goes, that’s why it’s so crucial. Show up confidently and authentically in that area naturally.
[00:45:30] and then this is a great question by Brad. He goes, I have a daily Bible study show and weekly show, Cancer and Comedy. And I plan on going live more next year. My wife is retiring soon and the plan is for her is to help produce them. Any advice for us? What would you tell Brad?
[00:45:49] Ramon Ray: Yeah. My biggest advice on that, especially, you know, it’s your wife. I assume she lives with you in an proximity to you, which is a big advantage is that Brad, you do everything you’re doing, assuming you’re the one who has kind of all the knowledge, technically and talent would do everything you’re doing.
[00:46:01] Have her shadow you, literally, so she can sit right behind you, and then as she’s doing that, taking notes and all that, start to offload everything you can, and I think that’s a happy medium. Love to know what you think, Jeff and Connor, but I think for me, that’s a, that’s a blessing, and that’s a great thing that you have somebody, especially in proximity, so as you’re clicking, doing what you’re doing, doing what you’re doing, she’s like, got it.
[00:46:18] I see your process, see what you’re doing, next thing you know, you’ll show up, and she’ll be like, great, honey, I did steps one through eight already, it’s gonna be imperfect, so don’t do it. Fight about it! She’s gonna do through steps one through eight already. You’re gonna, of course, correct and you guys will have a happy life and 50 more years of great marriage.
[00:46:35] Conor Brown: joining
[00:46:37] Jeff Sieh: working with my daughter. One, it’s great to have somebody on your team that you can trust. And that, has to like you because they are your family. the other thing is, is yes, tell them, but I found works for me is to shoot a loom video or something into script and do those steps because, one I’ll either forget one and help me do video makes it.
[00:46:57] You can watch it again if they need to get a step clarified or they’re like, Oh, what was step three? And they can go back and watch it. So that’s what I like to do. And then put those processes because a lot of those places already have the transcript. You can make SOPs right from that transcript and it’s done.
[00:47:12] You can have a video and the text and you’re done for that. So really, really cool. one of the, I want to go into you or you did these, you’re doing a daily show and you also did a five hour show. Like, holy cow. Like what? I want to. I want to talk about some of these things, but first of all, and a lot of people are starting daily shows in our audience.
[00:47:31] What inspired you to start this daily show?
[00:47:33] Conor Brown: being
[00:47:33] Jeff Sieh: Is it worth it? Like, have you seen the ROI from doing daily? Cause daily is a, I do a weekly daily would be a huge lift for me. I don’t see how you and Ralph do it. So has it impacted your brand in a positive way?
[00:47:45] Conor Brown: social
[00:47:46] Ramon Ray: and Connor,
[00:47:48] Conor Brown: for
[00:47:53] Ramon Ray: life. As you know, Jeff, I’ve started smarthustle. com, sold it. Started smallbiztechnology. com, sold it. Started smallbusinesssummit, sold it. Other things I’m working on, celebrity CEO to build personal brands. I run zoneofgenius. com. I love content creation and personal branding, love it.
[00:48:07] But the only other bucket that I want to do, It’s to have a show that reaches thousands and thousands and millions of people. I want to be the Steve Harvey, the Kevin Hart of small business. That’s one desire I have. And to do that, I have to have a bigger platform and to have a bigger platform, you can SEO it, do it YouTube, you know, as we’re all doing and trying to do and do it slowly, but surely, but I’m Ramon, there’s no reason why I should have to go that route.
[00:48:32] I want the easy button. Like I want all y’all to be just doing up the mountain and I want somebody to carry me to the top of the mountain.
[00:48:38] Conor Brown: Thank you all
[00:48:39] Ramon Ray: that, Jeff, I had the opportunity, a buddy of mine DM’d me on LinkedIn, said Ramon, I’m the head of streaming at Gannett. Top dog position. I already know you and see you.
[00:48:47] Can you do a show for us? So I said, yes, Jeff. USA Today, what a great brand. And I’ve been putting in the reps every single day as it were on episode almost 200 for a daily show. And now that I’m being seen by the bigger production team, and they’re like, Ramon, we want to take you up the mountain and take you bigger than you ever are.
[00:49:08] I couldn’t be happier. So yes, Jeff, if in 20, if next year and in the coming months as we’re doing this show live now, but people see this afterwards, that you’re seeing Ramon and he’s reaching potentially hundreds of thousands of people to millions per show. It’ll be a game changing, life changing experience for me.
[00:49:24] Jeff Sieh: So it’s, you’re saying it’s worth it then.
[00:49:26] Ramon Ray: Yeah. It’s worth it, then, yes.
[00:49:31] Conor Brown: So we know the process for, for the daily show and, and all the success that it’s gotten you, but this five hour show, can, can you just talk about the creation behind it and, and what it all took to, to put a five hour show together? And I’d also like to know, if you built in bathroom breaks or how that worked?
[00:49:50] Ramon Ray: I love the question. to answer the question first, no joke, uh, Jeff, but if you, how, well, Jeff, now, I mean, Connor, now I’m going to turn to you, Connor. How detailed do you want me to go with the last question, Connor? It’s your choice.
[00:49:59] Conor Brown: I know that Scott Hansen on NFL Red Zone, I know his practices, you know, but there’s timeouts involved with, with that. so you can kind of just say,
[00:50:09] Ramon Ray: Keep it family friendly. Keep it like, keep it
[00:50:10] above,
[00:50:11] Jeff Sieh: You’re the age of where we can wear depends anyway. So it’s not like a big thing.
[00:50:16] Ramon Ray: So Connor, for the last question, just I, I had, I had a large cup. I had a large cup available if I needed it. So that’s that question. Literally, had a large cup, large cup available in case I needed it, and I drank minimal water. but the live show, why I do it, I did it because I believe in going big. I believe in creating experiences, kind of Connor and Jeff, like we’ve been talking.
[00:50:33] We’re all doing similar things. We can all do great things. We all have different ways. We do it. So I figured the one way I can show up different is a 5 hour experience. So I could say 5 hour live show so small, you know, success summit 2025. I wanted to say 5 hour live experience. It just sounds freaking cool.
[00:50:49] So that’s number one. Number two, got all the friends I could think of except for Jeff and Connor. All the friends I could think of. To be on the live show. That’s number two, just say, Hey, can you join? Can you join? Can you join number two, two, three, my EA, same person helps me with my rundown with Ramon, she just reached out to people, made the scheduling.
[00:51:05] So we had a run of show number four. I got a buddy of mine, Robert Kennedy, the three, or you may know him, Robert Kennedy, three RK three said, dude, can you come on and be my co host for five hours, because I wanted the safety and security. In case I had to step away, Connor, or in case something happens, somebody could carry the show.
[00:51:19] So I had that. Five, hired an agency, agency offshore with people who created a green room. And Jeff Sieh, by the way, thank you for helping me, Jeff, to think behind this, but Jeff was part of this as well. Uh, but a green room on Zoom. So they went to go on Zoom for the speaker ready room, green room. And then I was, I would be DM’d on WhatsApp in the live stream service we were using, that chat service.
[00:51:40] They could say, Hey, Ramon, they’re ready. So the second person was in the, in the streaming service with me off camera to say, Hey, they’re ready and kind of be production. I made my own production team and then they would bring them in and I’d see them like we’re here and we’d go live and the show went for five hours.
[00:51:53] Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. only thing that happened, uh, Connor is the wifi went dead and there was no streaming for three minutes and I almost panicked, but I unclicked from my home wifi, went to the, whoever the brand we have, who does our wifi here and it works for The rest of the service, so that’s how I did it.
[00:52:10] Jeff Sieh: I have a service that you can use maybe next time to help with that. So if you do it again, so was it, were you sponsored? Well, you said you wanted to do it because one, it sounded cool. Which I think is a great, great way to, you know, that’s, that’s a real reason. So was it profitable? Did it lead to other business?
[00:52:29] Did it, did you get up, did you repurpose a bunch of content from it? So like the end result of it, were you happy with the five hours that you put into it?
[00:52:37] Ramon Ray: so yes, I was happy with it. It wasn’t profitable directly, money. But full disclosure, I didn’t do it for that first. The business case will be one, generating leads. It filled up definitely to leads. But Jeff and Connor, I’ll tell you the biggest reason I wanted to do it, Because I just wanted to do it. I love doing fun stuff dope stuff.
[00:52:54] You kind of know me Jeff You know, I think about the business case later for good or for bad But that’s me because I can in this season in this stage of life that I’m in the brands I’m working with but Jeff and Connor since you y’all keep asking my business Keep asking me to like open up my whole Rolodex and money making to y’all man alive But the key is how the money will flow Jeff and Connor Now that I’ve done it, five hour live experience, I can package that sucker to brands and sponsors and others and say, Hey, listen, here’s what’s possible.
[00:53:23] Here’s what I did. So that’s, that’s the biggest benefit. Now the model’s done, other big dogs in the marketplace, right? Oh, Ramon did his thing. I, the video clips, right, Jeff? The, it’ll look, it looks baller in the graphics. If I ask Cody Sanchez or whoever has millions of followers to join, she may say yes.
[00:53:41] Jeff Sieh: Connor, is there anything, I mean, we, we can talk to Ramon all day, all through the Christmas break, and we’d probably have people stay with us the entire time. But, you know, we all have to pee, I guess, is what we’re saying. So, is there anything I did not ask Ramon that I should have, Connor, that you can think of?
[00:53:58] Conor Brown: I mean, we could ask him a million things. I think the only question I would prefer you not ask is to ask me on a five hour show. I I’m
[00:54:05] Jeff Sieh: Okay, you’re, you’re busy. You’re rearranging your sock drawer. Yes. Okay. So, Ramon, once again, you are awesome. You’re fun. You are very knowledgeable. You are a great edutainer. And you’re just, you’re just a great guy. So I’ll want to leave this, these last few minutes for you to talk about what you’re doing.
[00:54:24] Plug your show, tell people where you’d find it, your books, all those things. The floor, my friend, is now yours.
[00:54:31] Ramon Ray: I appreciate that. First of all, I want to encourage everybody today. Life is not easy. It has its challenges, but keep going. Number two, if you want to find happiness, I encourage you to seek to make others happy. That’s what I found the best way to have life is. If you want to learn from two of the best guys on the planet, Jeff and Connor, socialmedianewsliveshow is the best Place to do it.
[00:54:53] If you want to connect with me, as you can see right there on the screen below, you can go to RamonRay. com. It’s not Ramoncito, not Ray, Ray, not Ray, Ray, not Emanacito. [00:55:58] Thank you so much. We wouldn’t be able to do the show without you. Connor, where can people find out more about the unsinkable Connor Brown?

[00:56:19] Jeff Sieh: Yeah, Merry Christmas, everybody. Have a great one. Enjoy your time as I try to figure out what, what buttons to press. Anyway, have a great, holiday season. We’ll see you guys next time. Bye, everybody.
